Can't mine iron? The Iron Mine isn't available on my crafting menu

Hello everyone,

as I wrote in the title, I can't see the Iron Mine in my crafting menu is it normal? I used to make a iron mine in the previous versions of the game

Dont know how it was in the early stages, i did buy the game just a few days ago, but dosnt you just "mine" iron now ? Selecting chars, and click on an iron deposit.
Maybe there is a automation later on via science, but im not that far into the techtree yet.

Mmmm the problem is that how can I do if I want to make iron plates? Because I can make the iron refinery but don't have any iron deposit near, also when I do prospecting, there are some iron areas so I should be able to get iron in some ways, previously there was a buildable iron mine, like the stone mine

If I'm not mistaken you need higher tech to be able to build a mine. My guess is tech 3 or 4 (pretty new here too)

Well, there are "rocks" out there, if you hover over them, a pickaxe symbol appears, the rocks look like this:

with them your chars can mine raw iron from it when you order them to (rightclick on it, or shift+rightclick to set a permanent job). If you build a iron refinery next to it, and do the same (rightclick... and so on) there should start producing iron plates.

i hope i see your problem correctly that you dosnt know that there are rocks all over you can mine now / at the beginning mining via hand. if thats not the issue, just ignore what i wrote ^^.

You need ore drill tech to put a mine wherever you want now.
