Dust King
Ok so I just recently turned in the bounty for the Dust King all goes well and all gaurd pays me. Now something ive never seen before. I turned in the Dust King at squinn I then leave and go to the hub. I come back the same day at night and as im entering the gates to Squinn i see the Dust King broke out of his cell somehow and was escaping. And he still had his bounty. Sadly the gaurds picked him up first. But that seems interesting. Is this a bug? Perhaps he bugged out of his cage as ive seen that happen before to ai they sometimes dont properly get put inside the cage so when they wake up they just walk out becuase they arent caged.

Update**
So i was curious and followed the gaurds back to the jail in Squin. the moment the gaurds finished healing him and he wasnt knocked out he just got up and instantly starts fleeing.

Same thing happened to me. I turned in the Dust King and as I was leaving the city, he comes running right past me out the city exit. I chased him down and captured him again thinking maby I could turn him in again, but the second time the bounty guard wouldn't take him from me. Eh, so I let him go. I saw him weeks later running throu the wastes, I tried to catch him again but he had done so much running by that pont he was way too fast for me. Good luck Dust King.

I managed to recapture Dust King and took him to the holy nation and turned in his bounty there and once he escaped that i turned him into the United but alas I couldnt have picked a better time to turn him in because immediatly after i turned him in a slave trader group entered the jail and took him. So I waved goodbye to him as he walked over the sand dunes during the sunset. it couldnt have been more beautiful

The Dust King deserves his own series.

I've seen the same things. The Holy Nation sends them off to Rebirth instead of slavers.
I'm guessing they de-spawn at some point, but I was tempted to go to Rebirth to see if they get placed inside a cell there.

I had similar thing happened with Cannibal Grand Wizard I captured and brought him to Squinn's police station. His bounty is forever, meaning he'll never be released like Dust King. When I returned to Squinn after a week or so to put Dust King in their jail, Cannibal Grand Wizard wasn't there, made me think if he was relocated to other prison then found a Shek Warrior returning him back to cell. Appartently, he broke out then got recaptured. Maybe locks on cells in Squinn are so poor that it's easy to break out. Other prisons might have better locks like Tengua's Vault where it'd be impossible for those with bounties to escape.

it could also be that maybe squin has a bugged jailhouse? this has never happened to me before. once i turned in the dust king at squin thats it. he never tried escaping before. I turn him in elsewhere he doesnt escape. it seems to me that they dont actually put him in a cage. I followed one of the gaurds back to the jailhouse and then wwatched the floor with the cells and the dust kings body was in front of the cell not inside it

Sheks probably were too busy fighting outside and forgot to lock their cells. This is why after new start, I only put unique characters at Tengu's Vault cells myself and get rewards, like Boss Simions, Grand Cannibal Wizard, Savant, Screamer the false, Polk, Cult Preacher, etc. I never seen one escaping from there. After anyone of them regained their conscious, vault warden comes up to third floor removing their gears and put rags on them enslaving each prisoners, meaning they will never be released, then he gives them his usual welcoming speech. So you can come back to use any of those unique prisoners for sort of training or to use Tengu's Vault for locking up your trophies. They even let you use their beds if your ally with UC.

If your worry about any of them escaping, you could put them in skin peeling machine at Skinhouse until all of their limbs are removed, then heal them right after pulling them out of machine and bring them back to their cells. That way they won't be able to escape any cells, even with lowest level locks. I'm interested in Yumata the Sand, the outlaw who's being locked up at Tengu's Vault, he has amazing martial art skills, but have to be careful not to let Samuri prison guards catching you unlocking his cell.

When I caught high paladins, I brought them to Tengu's Vault and drop them off at front counter, the warden and guards always took care of them, even there no rewards if you put them in their cells. Seem there's bug if you put non-unique prisoners in their cells then other cells become clones that you don't see anyone inside certain cells but are already occupied. So it's better just to drop paladins at front counter on first floor for guards to handle but have to be careful not too many that you could run out of rooms for more unique prisoners. Bringing paladins to Gut to feed the beak things is indeed a better option.
