Best town to start?
Hi i'm a newb.
I enjoyed this game for few days and now i want to start over.
i'd like to stay in one good town and make some money before i move to anywhere.
where is a good starting town with copper nearby and many merchants to deal with?

Sho-Battai is one of the best starting spots if you can get there. It does have copper outside the gate, has a mechanical shop and a general store which provide enough supplies to support a weaponsmith and a leather armour crafter so you can get an economy going. There will be Scorchlanders there you can hire as crafters. And Shinobi is there. There will be a katana blueprint in Stoat just a short run away, and Heft, Heng and Bark are all not far away. The desert is a great spot because there is lots of action, but if you can run about 21 MPH you have no threats.

Clownsteady is similar but is more isolated, Shinobi is there too. Stoat is good too. The Hub isn't bad, Shinobi is there but you will have to run to Squinn and Stack for supplies.

Squinn can't support two crafters by itself but if you run to the waystation every couple of days you will get what you need and there are Scorchlanders there. But there are no katana blueprints in the area (katanas are very profitable to make).

Stack has the supplies you need but it depends who you are of course, Scorchlanders will be hard to come by and no katana blueprints in the area, and you probably can't buy anything more than a small shack.

Shinobi is very helpful, they have training dummies for attack but the lowest level. They also have dummies for assassination and training chests for lockpicking, but you can also pick the locks of any chest in the building once a day and they don't care, just don't take things out of the chests they will care about that. So you can get lockpicking high very fast if you use Shinobi. But the best thing about Shinobi is the trader because he sells stuff at half price. You can get thieves backpacks (the best backpack) at half price, and great early game armor and weapons at half price.

Scorchlanders have a 20% EXP bonus for crafting so they should be your crafters.

If you're trying to go martial arts, one of the best ways to start is to purposely get yourself enslaved and act out while a slave until you're high enough to just run off and punch the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything.

The Hub is near iron and copper. Two bars and the Thieves' Tower nearby. It has risks since the area is patrolled by starving bandits and slavers.

yeah i found out sho-battai is rather safe mining outside since there are a bunch of guards patrolling outside protecting my people from skimmers and rebel farmers. also many mercs walking around, too.

Making leather armor? I built my empire on mass producing headbands.

The Hub in the Border area is pretty good. Just mine a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of copper and sell it. its long and boring but thats what Netflix is for. once you made a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money hire on party members and go attack the nearby bar outside the town.

Glad I could help. Post how things are going every once in a while if you want.

It may have changed in recent updates but at one time the NE cities were extremely profitable. Drag enemies to the guards and profit. Help beat them up to raise skills. Before I made a base I had 100k in cash.

Just save often and load when the worst comes if you take that route.
