Animal Traders

So 40 hours in and Ive only seen one nomal group selling animals.

Is there a reliable place to by animals like goats or pack animals other than just praying to the Kenshi gods to be able to find a nomad trader?

There are certain shops in the United Cities that sell certain animals, I've seen bonedogs and bulls there for sure, I believe they're the farming goods stores. I don't believe the animals respawn until you leave the area for a while so if you want to buy in bulk you'll have to keep importing your game.

Holy Farm sells bulls, and Animal Trader vissted my outpost twice (I lives in the swamp)

"Farm Shops" in the Great Desert UC cities have Bonedogs, Bulls, and Garru for sale. You get a mix of five animals at each shop, the one's I've seen have been heavily biased towards Garru. I'd try Stoat, Sho-Battai, and Heft as I remember there being stores there. Those areas also see Nomads fairly regularly that might sell goats. I remember a lot of varied caravan travel in Stoat but I spent a lot time there as that is where I did all my early research.

Sorry to resurrect this post with a completely different question :

Would it be possible to imprison the animal trader NPC to buy from him afterward (To have an infinite supply of leather per example)

No as the animals won't be respawning, and the trader cannot trade while imprisoned.

ive also seen them a lot on roads, if u see a garu with a backpack on, click on it to see if it belongs to nomads, if it does, chances are theres 1 person around that trades animals
