Advantages/disadvantages of mechanical limbs?
Im just getting back into the game after several months, Im wondering if I should have my warriors losing their limbs to get them replaced with mechanical ones or not?

some do confer benefits at the epense of other attributes. if you want a specialist, doing it could create just that.

Pros:
- Boosts stats depending on which robotic limb is installed (Eg: boosts a % of dex, str, lockpick and etc)
- Limb health gets extended beyond their default (Highest limb health for organic characters is 125 for Shek with 75 the lowest for Hive. High tier robotic limbs allows for a higher health pool)
- Aesthetically it looks cool though this is subjective to the player
- Weight of robotic limb is not a factor when it is installed to your body

Cons:
- All robotic limbs have a penalty towards swimming stat (is it really a con though? not very often do you really need to swim except for islands off the mainland or a specific NPC shop)
- Treated as a Skeleton by the Holy Nation as they despise them in other words Holy Nation is off limits to characters with robotic limbs
- Robotic limbs require an additional maintenance (not really an issue since all you need is to reach tech 4 and 2 engineering research to unlock skeleton beds)

All in all though robotic limbs seem to benefit characters with specific roles such as stealth & lockpick characters or martial arts characters. Losing legs also benefit your characters in general as Masterwork legs that provide athletics boost can make them run faster hence improve running speed when using heavy armor.

Nice. Yeah ive got all the tech unlocked, least on one game. I just wanted to know if they were worth it. Thank you.

You can also hire skeleton beds but they can be very expensive. The cheapest ones are in the black desert city. But elsewhere you'll be paying about 2000 cats to hire a skeleton bed. If you don't have your own.

Don't piss off the shek early game. They cleave through limbs like nobodies business. As do some techhunter skeletons with very high quality planks. Pulling off damage values as high as 150. There's a fishing village on the northern coast who the holy nation don't like. They were attacking that when a techhunter skeleton walked in. I don't think there was a single holy nation soldier who had all 4 limbs left after that.

Ive got a 50 man squad in all masterwork heavy armor and edge 1 at minimum weapons, I could probably kill everything in the world. Im planning to send the rest off to die and try to survive as one person, or more accurately, one person, their dog, and a pack bull.

And as what Armor King says, the Skeletons from the Ashlands are even deadlier. His thralls have 90+ stats across the board. As if the Bugmaster was tough to approach.

A hive prince can benefit from robotic limbs. Losing all 4 limbs, then give it scout legs and steady arms as your one-man skirmisher (first aid and perception bonuses). Its critical parts has that 75 HP, so it shouldn't be on the frontlines.

Oh...another con for robotic limbs is when you get both legs as robotic limbs then you no longer have the option to wear boots for races that can usually wear boots. In exchange though, you can either get tanky legs, stealth legs, athletic legs or a mixture of 2 out of the 3 leg types.

That's not entirely true, actually. I have a shek with two of the legs with the highest total HP (I can't remember the name at the moment), and they can wear the wooden sandals/clogs. I would test for other footware, but I'm stuck at work right now.

I recently found out I stand a higher chance of losing limbs to hungry and starving bandits than standard fights.

One would say that makes no sense.

However once you figure out how it happens it makes sense. Low level bandits do not do enough damage to put someone down and keep them down. So you get back up multiple times. This causes a much higher drop in health of limbs in the long run.
