Intentionally Becoming a Slave
So, I made some characters completely half ♥♥♥♥♥♥, no idea what the heck I was doing. Realizing I made some errors in some ways, mainly wanting my main character to be a warrior primarily and making him a greenlander. Didn't think about how it would be more beneficial to actually have a Scorchlander instead.

Anyway no big deal, didn't even play a full day real world so easy to restart. Now I'm thinking of taking a more solo experience in terms of gameplay for the beginning, and then when my character gets stronger branching out, becoming a bit of a lone wanderer, trying to make the character more of a hero from the get go before I build up a team and a base.

So here's my question. If I create a character, then spend some time working on sneak, thievery, and lock picking would it actually be beneficial to go and essentially get myself put into slavery knowing that I'd be able to lock pick and sneak my way out of it? Specifically in terms of building my strength and Athletics up to higher amounts and just have the game run while I do something else?

I know it's a bit lazier, but I also like the idea of my character being a slave, shedding his shackles, sneaking off, and then eventually returning to wreck havoc on slavers.

Any thoughts on this?

Train your athletics up to 30-40 before you go and become a slave, so that way, when you want to get away, you will be able to outrun them if you have to.

Syfar, if I have my sneak at around 40 would that be sufficient to just sneak right past them all?

Possible Spoilers Ahead.

Doable. Just hop in a cage, they'll come and take your items, shave your head, and give you the "slave" tag. You get the "obedient slave" job, which if you cancel, they'll pummel you to the ground (increasing toughness, maybe dodge and martial arts a smidgen). Used to you could pick your shackles and put them in your inventory, increasing strength- not sure if you still can.

You can train lockpicking on shackles and cages (-10 penalty for picking your own cage), stealth by sneaking around, thievery by stealing stuff. Tip: leave the food alone until you are ready to break out for good.

You can pick others slaves free, too, and they have a chance to join you once you escape (or after a pre-determined amount of time if you hide out in place). Rebirth and the Holy Mines have slaves with better stats, the UC slaves are typically 0 or 1 in all stats, save if some Red Sabres or Swamp Ninjas or Outlaws got put in there.

Holy Nation is easiest to escape from in my experience, but I've dealt with them the most.

Once you've escaped, you get the "Escaped Slave" Tag, and you can see your "Looks like a slave" level when you open your inventory. It's on the upper right. Try to keep this as low as possible. You do this by wearing clothes, hats, boots, and getting your hair fixed by a plastic surgeon.

Bounty hunters and city guards are the best spotters, so try and avoid towns friendly to your former slave masters once you escape. The heat will die down after a while, and you can safely come back to trade, hire mercs, or steal them blind.

Good luck and try not to get eaten alive by Beak Things. When you are dead, who cares what happens to your corpse.

Thinking of doing Holy Nation as well, since everyone hates them that'll give me a wider range of towns to visit once it's all said and done.

Perhaps you'll get a chance to sell captured holy nation to the UC after you bust out of the mines. Something ironic about selling your enemies to some slaver friends.

Intentional slavery is fine to start. Not as efficient as others starts. I'd suggest HN for slave. Rebirth is away from their frontiers, and not far from the Flotsam/World's End places. Also, you might have some stuff in the flotsam safehouse nearby, not sure though, never checked.
It's a way to raise toughness, strength, thievery skills and whatnot for free, with no risks to die.

Reporting back I did it, got a BUNCH of skills, unfortunately it's very poor for strength buildup since you don't do that much moving. Wish that I'd get dragged to a different location, or that I'd get to a different location, but no such luck.

Anyway stat wise I got toughness over 40 from the repeated beatings that I encouraged, all of the blunt weapons are great since I'm in experimental and didn't have to worry about a limb getting cut off. Strength got to about 20 by the end, this was MUCH harder to do but I managed it by picking a bunch of my shackles, throwing them in my inventory, and they'd reshackle me WITHOUT taking my old ones. At 20 kg each filling your entire inventory with them helps out. Laboring is north of 50 as well.

Athletics and stealth both got to above 40 as well and lock picking went north of 50. Stealth and Athletics weren't hard to get up, but training strength with them was tough. I just snuck around the camp at night over and over again. I could have probably doubled up on strength at the same time, BUT I was worried that they'd see me since all that weight negated any stealth.

Before I escaped I snuck some bread and got myself out of malnourished and didn't do anything to get beaten. Night of the escape, after the big slaver force had left a few days earlier, was when they put me in an outhouse area where they didn't guard it, I unlocked everyone's chains and shackles and then we all made a break for the front gate. Most didn't make it since they were malnourished but I ended up managing to make it southwest picking corpses up (I ended up in a mining camp in the middle of the North East desert owned by slavers) and hiding. Stole some more food in HN cities on my way south west and eventually ended up at the hub. With my laboring skill through the roof I mined copper to pay for food and then some goats attacked Hub and so I picked their corpses and eventually made enough to join the Shinobi.

So all and all I have some great stats. Strength at 20, Toughness over 40, Dexterity still only 8, Melee Defense at 17, Attack at 7, Dodge, at 15, Laboring over 50, Athletics at 50+, Sneak 50+, Thievery 17, Lockpicking 50+ and probably some more I can't remember.

Spent roughly a month in the camp, food situation was the most difficult to deal with honeslty since you only get enough to stay half not starved. Some meat jerky and some bread was lying out in the open which helped, but also with the confusion and my high stealth I was able to escape pretty well.

All in all wasn't bad, and I plan on going back one day to kill them all!
