Martial Arts and Melee Weapon synergy

It seems a shame to not include some synergistic form of martial arts that uses sword styles and martial arts into the game. Like Wu-tang Sword Style martial arts or Shaolin Polearam style. Like have a character who has high Katana and high Martial arts mix in some finesse and roundhouse kicks into their sword style. I'm not 100% sure but I feel like i've noticed my characters use dodge when fighting. Just an idea don't know if it's been explored or dismissed yet. Also what does the communities collective knowledge know of weapon based kungfu styles?
