Higher quality weapons
Hey folks,

Think I'm hitting the mid game portion of my first run through and had a question about quality weapons.

Do you find it better to just try to buy them (I've seen a few) or level up the weapon crafting tech?

I have a weapon smith with a high skill level but obtaining the books or whatever to research the higher levels seems like it may be difficult.

If I'm going to buy them, do you have recommendations on where to look? I found some nice ones at World's End.

Thanks!

The best weapon shop is at Black Desert, I think it's the best anyway. I haven't found a better shop yet.

Technically, the armor king in his flooded area & the skeleton merchant over at the Black Desert City (the one in the huge factory off the town) but are very expensive, however you can train your crafters to make gear up to Edgewalker type 1 (and can have a good critical success chance to make type 2), which is more than enough to trivialize content.

Be aware though, that higher quality weapons are heavier, what this means is that a character with really low stats will swing a high quality weapon slower because they'll have less strength (in order to swing a weapon at its normal speed without heavy penalty, you need twice the strength of a weapon in weight). It's still better to have a high quality weapon despite slow swings, but don't be surprised if your dudes swings all get blocked.

Another very important distinction between player crafted gear and gear that's found or bought is that player crafted gear is always slightly weaker than its npc counterpart (I can't fathom the design idea behind it but that's how it is, at least so far), so an edgewalker 1 bought from an npc is ever so slightly stronger than an edgewalker 1 that was crafted by one of yours. Still though, like I said earlier, it's more than enough to trivialize content.

Higher grade weapons aren't always heavier. Weapons have their minimum weight and weight from blunt damage. Higher blunt damage mean more weight. So, higher grade cut based weapons aren't as heavy and can be wield by fresh recruit, especially those pure cut katanas.
