Query about shop keepers?

So a shopkeeper knows my party boys are thieves (bug maybe? Don't think I've got caught stealing or selling stolen items), I'm wondering about two things.

1. Will they forever tar me as a thief? Or can I do something to circumvent it?

2. If I kidnap and murder the shopkeeper without anyone catching me will another take over his shop and hopefully be duped into giving me and my party boys a chance to buy stuff again?

Usually they will call you a thief if (correct me if I'm wrong here) one of your crew member got busted for trying to steal from the shopkeeper. I don't think they remember the exact person, they will just paint a broad strokes on all of your guys as thieves.

If you kill or kidnap or knock out the shopkeeper, I think he will pack up and leave and never to return until you import the game. The chest in his shop will remain not getting restocked and it eventually be an empty shell of what it used to be.

That happen to me when I drop a Gorillo in a shop down in Squin. While the bodyguard is occupied with the Gorillo outside, I knock out the shopkeeper. It was an honest mistake.

Fair enough, and they do however for the life of me can't think of a single person who got caught and had to run. All I can think is of a time when one of my guys ended up in a shop after it was closed (door was still open) and was told to get lost.

Anyway cheers for the answer, I'll rough on through and steal more from his store out of spite.
