Auto loom is worse then regular loom?
I cant automate the auto loom lol. With regular loom- i assign dude to work there and i he will automatically haul fabrics to nearest fabrics storage. With autloom he will just stand there and stare at it when its invetory is full and darn thing can no longer working. I can assign "haul to fabric storage" but it will too eventually fill up to max. Assigning more then 1 "haul to fabric storage" will result in dude standing there and endlessy tossing around fabrics between containers.

Since weapon crafting requires idiotic amount of fabrics- yes, im hoarding idiotic amounts of it.
Just have two or three auto looms. One guy on haul to storage can empty several just fine. No need for massive storage. Build as needed. Heck. No need.for storage. your smiths will take straight from the loom

Assign one character to auto loom, assign another character for hauling to storage or storages. When a character gets confused tossing between storages, move this character away a little then this character should move on. Maybe exit the game then reload just in case. If auto loom is still looming, a character that does hauling would be waiting which triggers tossing around. Maybe add sitting pillows, chairs, etc so characters can go sit around until auto loom finish producing a fabric.

Its way too much attention. I want this whole process too be automated with no oversight from me. Regular loom alows it.

My experience is assigning someone to the auto-loom they will haul to the storage once the autoloom is full. Check the backpack to see if it's so full of hemp/cotton they can't fit the fabric in to move it, or is the storage is full.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Good idea, thanks. Two autolooms should be enough i think.

If you don't mind mods there is a nice mod which gives different sizes of storage also. Seems fairly balanced and avoids the multiple storages breaking things

Curious - How can "multiple storages" break things? Does it mess up Jobs or cause characters confusion or what?

Characters get stuck in loops moving items between storages.
Pyrrhus Apr 21, 2019 @ 4:19pm
That can happen sometimes when the same character is assigned with 2 or more hauling jobs to a few storage containers for same item. Other solution is 256 characters mod to have more individual characters assigned with a single job each hauling per storage which is useful if you have numerous of storage containers for each items.

Then those single characters will haul from other storages sometimes also if they are within range. Doesn't matter if it is one or multiple characters. You can end up on a loop. Just harder to spot when it's multiple.

Must be a mod, the AI should never transfer materials between storage on their own, they only fetch resources when they get a prompt to operate a device.

Unless maybe you were silly enough to stick Auto-haul above a crafting order.
