most peaceful places to settle down?
In my current playthrough, nearing 200 days, I have managed to create a humble farming village that is steadily growing, where food is plentiful and ores are plenty (or at least plenty enough for me).

Said village is somewhat south of the United Cities coastal town of Bark (at least, I think that is the proper spelling, correct me for a fumble). Just enough so that we can build freely, but still close enough so that we can do easy trade runs with minimal risk, hocking off ores, rum and robotics.

Life is pretty good.. Surprisingly good. Bafflingly good. I hear tales from others about how they get raided by everyone and their mother nearly 24/7, life a constant struggle as they fight to protect their lands... And yet the only thing I have to worry about are the odd roaming band of starving punks that think they can survive an MKII harpoongun bolt and the odd case where passing manhunters try to ♥♥♥♥ with me, despite my friendly relations to the Emperor of the United Cities. (they don't last long).

But despite these minor annoyances, I never had a proper raid, and hopefully won't ever have to worry about it in the future as I continue onwards with my goals to get strong enough to take on the Holy Nation. Could it be I found a sweet spot on the map? I heard that raids are based on range from hostile factions, but I'm pretty much at the edge of the map, even outside of trade guild range (although traders very often like to visit, human and hiver alike).

It makes me wonder if there are other "sweet spots" in the world of Kenshi where one can found a village and not have to worry about massive raid parties constantly threatening them every other day, allowing the farmers that run it to work in peace while a main party goes forth to adventure and grow stronger?

A different form of "sweet spot" I still remember is south of the Border Zone waystation. Not at all a peaceful spot, but it has both Arid & Swamp terrain. So you can grow just about anything.

Holy nation Turf. okrans valley
there is nothing hostile there except for starving bandits. river raptors might try to eat your crops, but raptors are weak, and you can simply wall in your crops. okranite patrolls will kill swamp raptors and hungry bandits, as well as helping you when your base gets raided. That is, assuming that you dont have any skeletons in your squad.

Or metal limbs. Also I have had ninjas perform raids there. After my current campaign is over, may go for a Holy Nation run.

They also tend to give you alot of hassle if you have any "beast", though after getting used to their speech patterns you can simply talk them away.

Depending on how much someone might wish to spoil things for themselves, they might want to look at the event area map found on this wiki page[kenshi.fandom.com].

For example, building a bit south of Bark would mean only being under the United Cities area of influence, so you should only be getting visits from them (tax, I believe, if you're not allied) as well as whatever nearby roaming gangs there might be (such as the aforementioned starving punks and passing manhunters).

Deadlands are okay place to live. Raids come weakened by the acid rain and roaming iron spiders, only raids i got are sand ninjas and slavers guild. There is only one suitable place for an outpost (south eastern corner near gray desert) and it has no mob patrols. I rob caravans for food and buy fuel from UC.

Fish isle is ok when you kill King gurgler no more roaming squads only threat left is the rare crab squads. I am living i Shem currently and its not so bad having 40+ hungry bandit roamers near and some dust bandits there and the occasional gutters.

Shek kingdom is good, if youre squad is full skellies or you just cheese the bag mechanic
