Kenshi
Anti-slaver storyline
So I decided to create a start with all skeletons who follow in tinfists footsteps and practice Martial arts. After helping Shek take out Holy nation for is racist and slave mongering ways I set to working with the Anti-Slavers to take out the trader and slaver guild.

I've already gone an captured their faction leader and all the nobles controlling slave camps, one thing that bothered me was when I talked to a few of them they were really condescending saying that everything I use and need was made by slaves and that im an idiot. I brushed this off because I made all the things I use but the issue seems to have popped up again now that I've brought longen and the nobels back to spring.

At first tinfist was saying good things with me bringing in the nobels but the last thing he said was that there is now a Hungry bandit and famine problem. So does this mean that society in kenshi can't operate or survive without their slave labor? I feel kinda cheated if all my efforts just made things worse.

from my experience, a lot of the slaves seem to be made up of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who attack people for their food, or just because they can.

Slavery is bad, yes, but the way I view it, it isn't so bad if the slaves in question are made up of criminals.

Shame that manhunters seem to like beating up honest farmers every now and then, though...

They attack people for their food because nobility taken away everything from them. Because they were born witn no rights. People dont always resort to banditism because they are "evil", more often then not they resort to it out of desperation. Because they want to eat.

Slavers are absolute scum. They take anyone they can see into slavery. Honest death in battle is too good for a slaver.

You collapsed the economy and threw all their leaders in jail... what else did you think what would happen? Tinfist obviously didn't have a follow up plan, but hey, at least everyone is free to starve to death now.

Damn so I didn't really make anything better, well I still hated those nobles so at least I feel better about that.

Late to the party here but you didn't make things worse. It's hardly your fault that people would rather turn to banditry than set up their own farms and outposts. I mean, if you can do it then they can too. Honestly, I find it's pretty easy to end up producing farm more food than you'll ever need, just by having a couple of large farms and a cooking stove.

By removing the slavers and the UC you're not building anything, you're tearing something down. The thing you've torn down was blatantly evil and now there's a clear space for something new to be built. It's up to the individuals there to build themselves a better society though, not you. Kenshi is pretty clear about your character not being a leader. They're just one more muppet amid thousands. So it's not your place to take control. It's not really tin-fist's either. Why would the people living in the UC cities accept their decade long enemy as their new leader?

So basically, the objective was always to destroy something evil. Not necessarily to build something good too. Just to make way for something good to be built in place of something evil.

It's a shame that you can't really "clean up" the mess you make, so to speak, when you trigger a world state such as the Holy Nation or UC going down. But that's Kenshi for you; there really is no one real good ending. You simply have to live with your consequences and make your own story, for good or ill.

Kinda. I mean, there's not really any good endings for Kenshi I don't think. Like, maybe the best is having the Shek take over HN. Otherwise I can't really think of much you can really do to change the world for the better. Either way there are still thousands of bandits, man eating creatures, a general lack of food, ancient terrors, etc.

Ultimately Kenshi isn't about how your story affects the world. It's more about how the world shapes your story. Usually with moments where you have a plan and then something comes along and ruins your plans but in a way that you can recover from, with a bit of work. Well, basically by slavers coming along and beating you down then taking you for a day or two detour until you can escape, haha. There's some smaller things too, like I had to move my base at some point in my playthrough because I started with the 'rock bottom' beginning and had set up in the Holy Nation, because I didn't know they were against prosthetics too. So when I was ready to make the journey to buy an arm I had to figure out how to deal with getting in and out of HN territory. Turns out it's pretty easy to take your arm off and smuggle it through the checkpoints, haha.

Hey there, yeah later on I started to think about the situation better. I started to see what I did as Cutting off an infected limb so to say, the slavery was absolutely a terrible and evil situation and while destroying it and the infrastructure it is built on makes things worse for a time there is at least the chance that something better might be built in the future.

And your right about the builder/leader position of the player character, I would also say that the play is an avatar of change, his position in the world is to change and be changed by it.

Economy by its definition means rich people or elites who think they're more important are doing so well making so much profits by milking off common or poor people. While greedy corrupted leaders are gone, people get to work on rebuilding their lives, a path to the right direction. Doesn't matter how long it would take. It's to let them evolve on their own without interruptions. They can get to bring back United Cities again without nobles.
