Unique free characters

since the new update I started a new game and i can't find any free characters like Beep, Ruka, and Hobbs . Am I just unlucky or is there something else?

Free characters are still there. I've got Arien and Cube in my squad. Ruka is still around too. I haven't seen Yunomi for a while though, Hobbes neither.

Here's locations of unique recruits, it's a spoiler. It doesn't have everybody on list for example Hex at Tengu's Vault is unique recruit. Sometimes if you don't see certain unique recruits anywhere, you may need to import.

Always start a new game by importing or fresh from the menu, if you start a new game after you've loaded a world, your same world data gets imported automatically, and that means any dead people are gone.

Never got Ruka (As a female Shek warrior with no horns.) for free. If I remember correctly.

Hobbs got moved way up north to Deadcat/Cannibal Territory
Ruka is usually in one of the Squin bars
Sadneil is still in BDC
Shryke, Beep, and Crumblejon are all still in Mongrel.

Some unique characters spawn at different locations, usually random, maybe even triggered base on first time visiting their spawn points, even passing by.

I always recruit Sadneil and Burn first and second because I don't want to have to worry about food early game.
Sadneil - free skeleton Black Desert City bar.
Burn - free skeleton at Burn's Tower in north Floodlands. A free use skeleton repair bed in his tower too. It's worth looting his tower.
