Building wind generators

For whatever reason, my 2 engineers absolutely REFUSE to build the 2 wind generators.
I have the iron plates, I have the copper. Both are in my territory.

This isnt the first time I encounter this. It happens through pretty much every playthrough.

if they are too close to your walls try to move them in more

Proximity to other objects can be an issue. Also, are you absolutely sure that all walls are facing outward? If you are, try a CTRL-SHIFT-F11 to rebuild the navmesh.

Do your engineers have inventory space to pick up plates/copper? They often fill with excess materials from previous projects. Can you control your engineer and have him walk right up to the turbine? by placing it you may have blocked off a route to it, happens sometimes in hilly areas.

Did not know about the proximity issue. They´re rather close to my house.

There´s only a medpack in my engineers inventory so space isn´t an issue

Yes, I can move my character to the wind generator and tell him manually to build. Then he-she builds it completely.

Now that I know there could be a proximity issue, it sure seems like that´s the problem. Will have to test it though.
