Slave shackles

Ok, so I'm still a relative noob here - got about 140 hours in game. Not explored the whole map yet, but I have a question about capturing people: what's the deal with slave shackles? Is the only way to subdue beaten enemies to throw them over your shoulder? Or is there some way to buy, and apply, slave shackles?

You can't buy slave shackles in the Vanilla game.
this mod here let's youbuy them at any Slave trader shop.

it also gives you more money when you sell a Slave to a trader.

You can collect locked shackles off the ground after slaves are eaten by beak things. My base's in Gut, I always get attacked by Reavers and they bring their slaves. So if your base's somewhere else, you could always bring some slaves to Gut and wait for beak things to finish eating them to get locked shackles. You could get unlocked shackles from slaves you brought maybe for strength training.
