How the Hell do you get Crab Armour and ally with them?

Title says it all. I haven't found a way to do either.

There is no requirements.

Crab raiders have two settlements. One in the Pits East has their queen leader. Speak to her and tell her that you love crabs and you will die for crabs.

Then done. Alliance is formed and you can talk to vendors.

Alternatively, I believe there are blueprints to be stolen in the shops if you want to avoid the alliance.

Where is Pits East?

Google it. It's SE side of the map right above Ashlands.

Not a safe place to visit, mind you. Get your acid protection to 100%.

Personally, crab helmet is the best helmet.

Crab armor is arguably the best heavy armor.

The leggings and shoes are junks.

You can also win the CRAB TOURNAMENT!!!
I'll do my best to avoid spoilers:
Build an outpost near the crab raiders, and prepare for battle.
A herald will announce an incoming crab tournament. You have to win a few waves, and once you've beaten the semi-finals, get ready. The finals are brutal.
If you win, you get enough positive reputation to be at +100 with the crab raiders no matter what your old rep was.

Don't try to get out of the crab tournament. They will not believe you if you tell them you don't have crabs.

A slightly easier (but more expensive) route would be to buy crab raiders from slavers. You get +4 reputation for each one, once you have +50 rep, they won't attack you anymore. Then you can go into their towns and use the shops.

I hate the crab tournament, it always seems to bug out. Think the highest I've gotten was semi-finals, they get annihilated by my gunners as per usual, then next thing I'm in a remedial round. Win that, start all over until I get a remedial round again, continue continue. On the plus side that's a lot of seafood they're delivering to my door.
