Also note that, though i'm unsure about HN behaviour on that matter, some raiders decide to simply stay in your base...forever, it's rare but does happen.
The best solution you have is to cowardly hide every one nearby, leave a guy or two to be punching bags, have them on parry only and fight a bit away from your base, that way the HN will not be hurt and will leave you to heal without spending ages healing their own troops, they'll aim for your base, your hurt guy will be able to heal in tranquility
Stock up with building mats before you start your base, then build walls around your base, and a single gate, and put up many turrets on the walls near your gate. Then when you get raided, you can have your men on turrets and some of people that are more skilled in engineering fix the gate WHILE the enemy is attacking your gate trying to bring it down. This works like a charm lol
