how to knock someone out

I am curious is there anyway to knock someone out? or is it just by chance when fighting them?

You need to go stealth to KO someone. Go to tower of spiders north of the pits near a crab village to raise your stealth skills fast by sneaking around elder blood spiders but don't engage them. Once your stealth skills is raised to 90 then go to Ashlands and practice stealth KO on mad cat-lon, work on to raise your assassin skills to 90 on him.
