Copper Storage Issue

Currently I am around day 14-20, I bought me a L-House in the hub. I currently got ten characters at the moment. Working on Level II research. Here is my issue, I made a storage box for copper and one for iron ore. I have characters mining those two nodes, and I have dedicated two characters to empty the mines, works great. However, when I try to take the copper or Iron ore out of the storage, by another character, it automatically goes back into the box. How the heck do I get it out of the box so I can sell the ore so I can continue to purchase books to research?

you characters have "ditch resources" on by default, to prevent snags in automation. you can turn that off under the "ai" tab.

however; characters will always ditch things related to the job they are actively doing. so if they are assigned to mine ore, they will always dump ore.

to prevent ditching completely; but temporarily, click on the "jobs" button. they will not ditch resources at all if that is not lit up. so you can just click on the job button for the one you are trying to send as a trader, and turn that back on when they get back to send them back to work.

The guy taking the ore for selling, you should turn his/her jobs to "off".
