I could tell you of a method, but it will take the fun out of combat training for you.
Find a beakthing and pick it up. Bring it to a bed, drop it, and wait for it to wake up, pick it up when it awakes, and place it in the bed. It will start to recover, won't attack, and will be able to heal at like a 12x rate.

There's a few tactics that you can use.

As long as you are not trying to kill them, you can use stealth and assassination knockout to take out entire groups. This obviously works better at night and takes a little training, but it allows you to zip from opponent to opponent and often KO an entire group. The benefit of this is everything will fall in one hit. The downsides are they eventually get up with no damage, it's a lot of micro management and takes really high stealth (easy to train) and assassination (also easy to train). If you're not playing solo, having somebody who can do this is like adding a super unit to your army.

You can use the staged training like War Medic advised also. I'm not personally a fan of these but you do have to consider safety in solo play if you have nobody to rescue you.

A third option is don't fight at all yet. Move into a city, craft until you have an edge type two weapon and masterwork armor. Gear makes a HUGE difference. You can one shot entire groups with a falling sun, and their attacks will do you very little harm in masterwork samurai or crab armor. You'll need to train strength, but you can do that while walking back and forth through town to get supplies, or overnight when you run out of crafting stuff.

Or, you can just go out and get beat up. Once you pass a certain stat threshold, it happens less and less often. Just don't fight anything that will eat you, enslave you, or likely leave you unconcious and bleeding to death.

oh yeah.. i forgot one. There's a 5th option too which is don't fight EVER. Get a pair of sandals and run. Keep running until your athletics gets really high. In the upper 90's, you can pretty much race by anything. You can also buy 2 masterwork scout legs, melt your legs off, and run REALLY fast by replacing them with the artificial limbs. Nothing will catch you, not even beak things. At this point you become about 99% immune to everything in the game unless you somehow get stuck in the geometry while being chased.

look for a camp, hungry Bandits (the easiest) or dust Bandits (a little bit harder). pull an enemy away from the rest. Attack him and run away. if he turn around an went back to the camp, attack him again..until he is alone and far from his comrades. or sneak in, knock an enemy out and capture him.

once he is seperated from his group, fight him 1on1 to train your stats.

It is also recomanded to have one of your servants hidden somwhere near, so he can aid your wounds if you get defeted (which is ok, because it trains your Toughness)

I don't see this option. I see "number of nests" multiplier but not squad size.

edit: nvm lol

Training is key,

1, I suggest getting Faster Healing beds mod. I find that in Kenshi You spend way too much time looking at your pawns recover. Almost 50% of time stuck in a bed. It's realistic , but it isn't fun.
Especially for solo run.
When you have multiple squads that's acceptable , because you have many things to manage.
Looking at one of your guys stuck in bed ... isn't.

ok so onto the real stuff
2. Travel to mourn , Head to the biggest building , challange the sleeping monkey inside until you feel that you have trained enaugh.
The animal will fight you , but won't eat you. This is great training exercise for toughness in a safe enviroment. And it feels like something out of Dragon Ball Z.

3. Knock out a humanoid enemy of your choice , put them in your house , fight them. Once they loose , put them in cage until they're healed.
Continue training until you are proficient with the weapon of your choice.
This an efficient way of training , both of you will increase in skill. So you don't have to leave your house and continue improving. Give yourself and the enemy wooden weapons so you deal less damage and have longer fights.

once you get decent stats 60-70ish you can take on multiple opponents and groups.

If you want a godlike , continue fighting the mokey until you're able to beat it.

Get prostetic limbs of highest caliber, with limbs and high stats and proper weapon you can solo A Leviathan.
Btw you can keep multiple sets of prostetic limbs for different occasions, for instance I have running set and fighting set of legs.

mine copper, hire mercenaries/tech hunter then go on a hunt for a good fight, repeat and fight stronger opponent each time, eventually you will be strong enough to 1 swinging numbers of enemies with a meitou weapon...I suggest starting with the the holy sword start

So my first play had the holy sword start and honestly?....it made it kind of easy as dumb as that sounds. killing bandits was super easy with mercs and the holy sword :D only issue was i couldnt visit holy cities which sucked.

crossbow and as many bolt as you can carry. Prioritize athletic training.
Otherwise a solo melee fighter don't usually end well. You need at least 2 members in a party to beat the game in melee.
