Kenshi
Base Locations
There are some awesome places in Kenshi to build bases, and with the new map section some mineral rich areas. But god united cities territory sucks to build in. I built four bases, one in the united cities, one in the super fertile land right into holy nation land, one near the flotsam village, then one a bit north, and a nice permanent area I found was a little valley in the hidden forest, right next to the cannibal plains. Its like 100% fertile, has copper and iron deposits, and 100% stone, and is alsk a main trade thoroughfare. Only thing sucks is the cannibal raids that number in the 40s through 50s of members.

Anybody have any cool places they found to build like this?

Hi! Do you mind sharing where the location in the cannibal plains is?

My main base is at the center of the map (west of Black Desert City, west of the Deadland Workshop but south of the Holy Mine Ruin that is East of Bad Teeth). Super central to everything. Obviously not fertile but all my food is grown indoors powered constantly by those high desert winds. More iron available than copper but still suffiicient for an armor/weapon factory.

I am building in GUT myself, the blue area with the giant iron trees. You are gonna be constantly attacked by gutters, but that is the point.
Great for training new members in combat and a source for leather, also copper and iron as well as stone and water are at 100 and it is Green 100% and arid 55% I think, so you can grow more than one type of food.
I am growing cactuses, wheat, vegetable, cotton and hemp in great quantities so I can easily make alcohol and the minerals and materials are great for industry here so I pump out mkIII weapons and specialist grade armors for everyone in my team (20 people right now) which are all in the high 60s in terms of combat skills.
As for income, you can trade with Heng's traders guild for everything you need and black desert city is not far off for some nice BPs, you are also out of the influence of the samurai so no Taxmen coming your way, only caravans.
WARNING: Do take note that it is a no-man's land with Leviathan's and hostile wildlife, so you should build up a small force with good medics before coming here otherwise you are gonna lose people to the Gutters.

So I think part of my issue is the 5x combat mod, because he's right, it does make it harder, but an 80 man(not exaggerating) scrawny cannibal raid absolutely tears my 4 40+ combat warriors, 3 dogs, garru, bull, and few 20+ combat farmers a new one. That is the only problem I've had where I built. These massive raids are crap I have to carefully plan around, strategize, and cheese occasionally because they are so hard to fight.

As for exactl location, cant screenshot it atm but its past the hidden forest, at the end of several ravines through a canyon where they come out to a big bowl almost with a small hill in the middle. Its south of the ghost village, right as the sands go from brown and ruddy to grey, with red trees. It seems almost tailor-made for a base by the devs tbh.

Zombie,

The islands off the western coast near the hive villages are perfect for farming vegetables and wheat. The only issue is you can only build two stormhouses and a bunch of shacks.

Interesting. I'm working my way west right now with combat action force 1, and ran into the cannibal village, flanked by an absolutely massive scrawny cannibal camp, so I noped pretty hard back to my base. My team is preeetty powerful now but not enough to take out that massive of a cannibal army with 5x on. I do have big aoe weapons on all my combat team though, its pretty great. Maybe thats what we need, a good weapon for specifically fighting hordes of enemies like river raptors or cannibals.

Btw, can you wipe out the cannibal village permanently?

THANKS OBAMA Jan 13, 2018 @ 6:48pm
I only just got my third teammate and ever since I got her she broke the pathing on everything where I lived. My previous teammate can't even gather ore I use to sell automatically anymore, and if any of my characters are left to auto harvest iron they just run back and forth repeatedly along the city walls on the outside. AAAAUGH.

The thought of trying to keep more people fed is really annoying me. I think I'm just gonna sell them both into slavery and go back to trying to be a solo martial artist master.

I'm probably not. Going to try to build a tiny base in the basin to the east of Stack, is there any way I can provide automatic food for these idiots without a farm? Like can I shove a ton of food in my box and let them eat it without me having to micromanage everything?

Eventually I'll be making a farm set up, but as it is now I just want to get back to fighting stuff so I'll shove as many damn meatwiches into a feeding box as I need to.

Stack is good. Another area good for a new town is the river's end, east a ways of blister hill. Its nice, close to a holy farm, and very safe save for the occasional raptor troupe that comes through. Plus there's iron, stone, 100% fertility, and not too far east is some copper.

You can stockpile bought food fromNPC cities in a a mini base, however i would suggest you equip most of the few memebers you have in the outpost basin with backpacks and in their own group, then fill the backpacks and the storage units with food for them, check on them every now and then, spend a few mins updating the backpacks and back to adeventure!

Im looking around now for a final base area. I wanna build two outpost 4 and a watchtower somewhere that is worth exploring endgame but Im not really sure where to build. Maybe in UC territory to fight them? They kinda screwed me over in the start, and they're pretty much irredeemable because of the whole "everyone is a slave" thing. Problem is the utter lack of water.
