Report a translation problem
So far this has only happened in Stoat.
To import save, just start up kenshi, and right there on the main menu is import option, slect it, then select the save you want to import and voila. You can also edit sliders and options if you found your previous playthrough too hard/too easy so now is a good opportunity to tweak your world.
You won't lose anything in your base inventory or squad, so rest assured on that front.
One thing to note. I was collecting potential slaves in my base and locking them in a house on beds (saves on bandages as beds autoheal) because I was hoping my slave trader would unbug after a few days, but when I imported my save, all my potential slaves (mostly starving vagabons) were gone :( so if it has nothing to do with your squad or base. It will probably be gone/reset.
