how do you build a small house? (RESOLVED)

cannot seem to figure this one out i just want to get that research bench II and this is kind of stopping me from doing so

Use the storm house when trying to place a research workbench, it may possibly state in older builds that you need to use the small house however the storm house is the correct solution.

Tip:

If you havent started to build a city yet, buy a small house in a town. It isnt cheap but
at least you can research before you start a city so you may have that knowledge at your disposal.

Click the build button, select "buildings" That should be the only one listed there. Find a flat spot away from town, build the small house. Sometimes you have to click on "small house" twice for the build preview to appear. Green means you can place it, red you can't, and blue means too near a town.

Or, you could buy a house in a town and build the bench there. Ruined small houses cost about 500c, and take about 3 building materials to repair.

thats a small shack, it cannot hold a research bench Mk II

i know how to build the small shack and the storm house but for the research bench II you need a small house in which i am confused as to how to go about learning to build one if even possible

other buildings can hold a research bench mk2, cant remember the name of them, but certainly the second building (experimental build) can... its one with 2 floors, you need to research it from the tech screen, or view the missing requirements there

Storm house. You can research it with the basic bench. That is the next size up, and it can hold a mk II.

I think you guys are missing the point. Ma9nus is having the same situation that I am. Niether of us can find the option to build a "small house". The build menu only offers (1) small shack or (2) storm house.

Where is the option to build a "small house" which is required for the "research bench II"?

Where does it say that you have to build a "small house" to build the research bench II?
I'm curious since there is not, to my knowledge, a building in this game called "small house".

Build the storm house. That can fit the next research bench.

My bad. When I went to research the research bench II, I saw under requirements "Small House". Hence I thought you needed a "Small House". When I got the 6 books I was able to research the tier 2 research bench. So no alarm, all is cool, sorry for the comotion (sp?). Back to the game everyone.

yeah i eventually learned about the storm house but no one really mentioned it in the guides back then. anyway this may be necro but at least this is actually helpful information

I bought the L-house and i also have small shack at the same town (the hub) yet i can't research the bench II. What should i do? Do i have to buy storm house? that's unfair. L-house is bigger than storm.

You dont need to build a stormhouse, but you need to research the small house/storm house, then it unlocks and u can just place it inside a L house
