Job list not working
I have been playing the game a lot the past few weeks and something's really bugging me. I have a few members assigned to certain jobs for instance the iron processor that makes iron plates he just stops working I've assigned different people, tried ctrl shift f11. Plenty of food plenty of power I just don't understand what's going on I can't sit there and micromanage everybody and have fun with this game. This problems also occurring on many jobs for instance if I just assign somebody to build they just stop grabbing resources and building if I assigned a number of jobs they just start working and eventually stopp and it's driving me crazy if anybody has had this issue or knows what's going on please help

Have you checked storage? If he has no where to drop the completed product then they will stop working, same as if their is no more material to load the machine. Or back pack could be full and they are unable to carry more. If none of those are the issue it could be a navmesh issue where for some reason the storage is bugged and you could try that. If none of those work I would do an import

Well it's definitely none of those but I will try and import and I thank you for replying and trying to help

Everyone just stops working, I give up. I am beyond myself that I have never seen or read an issue like this but I have 120+ hours in the game, I know what I am doing, something is not right. Maybe I will just try to rebuild a base and go from there but I really dont have the heart to do it anytime soon. Soooo disappointed as the new map comes out tommorow, God is punishing me for something.

It's difficult to pinpoint what's actually happening with your assigned jobs without actually seeing it in action. Although some of this sounds familar to me, I've had problems with some jobs on occassion, it's usually pathing or proximity issues of some sort.

You could upload your save, I'd be happy to have a look, I'm sure others would too.

Proximity? Are you referring to how close my buildings are to each other?
Sput Sep 26, 2017 @ 6:57pm
That could be a factor, but moreso with containers both inside and outside of buildings, and various machinery and other things scattered around. If there's plenty of room in your base this shouldn't be a problem. But I've learnt that clustering things close together can create problems.

I was not having any problems until I added a few more containers and machines etc.It was a pretty new game I wanted to start fresh not to long ago so here is hoping for the best. Perhaps I will try to rebuild and see if that helps otherwise upload a save and see if someone can help. I really want to say thank you for your help.

No problem. Let us know how it pans out ;]

you're using too many storage containers I recommend only using 2 storage containers for a item
do not use more than two containers for iron plates the same goes for ore storage and copper and only one container for armor plates the armor plate container has a habit of breaking if you fully fill the container you're going to have to take all the plates outbreak the container and rebuild it

-_- pathfinding with containers is a big problem one of my guys got into a retarded Loop
grabbed iron plates from one storage and put them into another went back and forth between the storages:derpmouse:

Yea I did

I have the same problem. Moved everything around in the base, but they still don't want to work. sometimes they stop along the path. No mods. Tried importing. Makes the game quite frustrating...

Can you post a screenshot of your job list for some of your workers?

Need to rule out a few things first. For example there is two issues I can think of the first is priority order, the second is some jobs are adding an unnecessary job. Storage is never an issue unless they are ALL full, then that job will go inactive and move to the next down the priority list.

Like the oven for example, there is a job for hauling to the oven, that job is irrelevant because operate oven fills the oven. The machines for iron plates, steel bars, and such also have such an irrelevant job because either the operator will fill it or the people mining ore will fill it because it is considered storage space.

Interesting will look into this when I get home. This sounds like something I may have overlooked thank you. Will post a ss if I can't figure out out

The hauling jobs are not irrelevant. because the operator, not having the hauling job, will not fill up the input resources . A iron rafinery will run out of raw ore, if there is no one hauling iron. This can be a miner, having the neares viable raw iron drop of beeing the refinery or the rafinery operator having the haul to rafinery job.
