Engineering Research at World's End?

I did a lot of google searching and quite a few people said that World's End is a good source of engineering research, both from vendors and from stealing in the science HQ. However, I haven't found that to be the case. I searched all the containers in the science HQ and went into the bars/shops to see if anyone sold any, and came out with a total of 0 engineering research. Just bad luck with my seed or am I missing something?

Isn't the case any longer. You need to be looking for Post-ancient workshops. The Kenshi wikia has a map (thanks to Shidan) if you don't mind spoilers. There's one particular Workshop Complex down south that usually has multiple chances for engineering research. Check in the Grid, you'll likely as not find what you're looking for.

Thanks for the help. I also heard about people buying ancient science books on vendors and haven't seen any of that either. I suppose they decided to make them harder to obtain.

I've searched 2 post-ancient workshops already and got about 8 total, which unfortunately wasn't enough. But yeah, I mostly found just libraries in the south, so I should probably have another look.

World's End does occasionally sell ancient science books at the backpack trader- once saw five at once for sale there. It's not all that common though, as far as I can tell.

Hrm. South of the libraries, southwest of the swamps is the big crystal farm thing. Really big blue crystals, can't miss 'em. That's the Grid. Stuck in the middle is the workshop complex. There's two or three of 'em, separated by the Grid crystals.

There's also an ancient lab not far off, southwest of *that* in the Crater. Come rigged for bear, there's almost always a beak think nest (or on one memorable occasion, 3. Over seventy beak things. Long a$$ fight, that was) betweek the workshops and the lab. From there, I usually head down to Clownstead (UC town) to sell loot and heal up, because somebody always gets downed in the long stretch there.

Thanks, found it. Also found the ancient science books at world's end, although I picked up quite a few of those at the workshop and lab. This should be sufficient for everything that I care about that doesn't require AI cores atm. No beak things either, just some red sabres. I remember when my party was weak and those guys were cause for concern lol.

Had 3 shops in town sell me 2 science books a piece fairly recently, and course can get some other valubale needed goodies from library. Can also buy enginer researsh from trade guild wandering guys and science books, checked prolly 10 of them between worlds in and tiny settlement and got like 6 science books and 6 of the research.

Best places for Science books is hives IMHO. always find at elast 4 for sale per trader

Hives no longer sell ancient science books, at least on experimental. Not certain on stable.

Pretty sure that's the same. The change for Hivers selling blue book was months ago, and the latest stable version is more recent.

Yeah I haven't seen any blue books from the hivers in my game. I probably still need a few more of those, although it seems like I can skip advanced weapon grades 2/3/4 and go straight to edge weapons if I find some more AI cores?

withoiut imports ai cores have proven a challenge, have yet to find one outside of the library in worlds end
