About 10 minutes after they ripped him apart limb by limb and I sold all the Prince heads, I went back and used a skeleton...

How'd that work out?

I got a good 50,000 cats. As others have said before me, The fogmen and their Princes run up but can't eat the skeleton, but their AI forces them to just stand there. Just stay back and wait for a couple of Princes to waltz over to the skeleton and just sweep in and kill everything that is the colour blue...

Really though, that IS just bad.

Use a downed fogman or a Skeleton. The Princes are SUPREMELY Disapointed, but they seem to just put their heads in a bag for me.

Hmm... Thats what needs to happen. Someone needs to create the #KenshiLivesMatter movement! :D

Everything blue? Even if we somehow encounter a parrot last of his kind? Dude, you're cold.. too cold.

What if the cockroach equivalent in this game are blue, could be worth it...

They are unarmored, poorly armed, bleed slowly, and can easily swarm you in groups of 50 or more if you don't kill them quick enough. Keep all that in mind.

Most efficient tactic is probably using several bone dogs with some high defense guys drawing aggro away from them, then bolting after the battle. Bone dogs aren't typically something I'd rely upon but this is one of the few situations where they thrive, as they will typically hit 2-4 fog men a hit, will attack 2-3 times for every attack a fog man throws their way, and their damage is actually pretty good.

Otherwise... Long reach weapons and lots of attacks. Pole arms and katanas, namely nodachi's if you have them, although sabres will work. I'd avoid planks here actually. Heavy weapons are more useful for cutting apart groups of tougher sods like Holy Nation troops, and you need like 30 strength for them to really be practical at all. I'd also avoid martial arts unless you have like 50 in the stat. While useful, they don't tend to kill targets, and you really don't want to risk a fog man getting back up repeatedly in the same battle when you've got like 10-50 other fog men to worry about. Also doesn't help that a lot of martial arts moves will only hit like 2 fog men at most.

I'd also avoid bringing in a large group unless you plan to micro manage like heck. Last thing you want is to pick a fight with 5 fog men, only for your group to run off in and start aggroing 3 entire camps full.

Oh, and fogmen can be found in the area south of the fog islands sometimes, fighting scrawny cannibals or escaped servants. Don't know if you will encounter fog princes or fog heavies too, but even if you do, this is a far easier place to fight fog men.

The problem isn't taking out the first group, it's the 2nd, 3rd and 4th group that comes. Honestly I believe there's some hidden "trigger' that happens - once you engage the fogmen more of them are alerted and come. At least that's been my experience so far with them.
I usually manage to kill the first group and have enough time that if I had run away, I'd have avoided the next few groups. The problem is I like to push my luck a lot.

Katana/Nodachi + high Agility and Athletics. Usually one can get 2-3 swings in which often hit several of them at once before running off and effectively resetting the encounter.

I'm curious actually. Anyone know if focusing down the Fogmen Heavy's is a smarter strategy than saving them for last? Standard Fogmen have around 7-10 in combat stats making them about on par with Cannibals. Fogmen Heavy's are in the 30s, making them statwise roughly on par with some town guards, this makes them hit much harder but also makes them tougher to take down.

I try to break them up (Even if I outskill them) and then knock out the isolated ones. The Heavies go down if they're in the way, otherwise, I don't single them out. PRINCES get singled out and dropped quickly. All others are any order as is where is. But I don't fight fair, I use mobility and attack them from the sides or rear whenever possible.

Equipment is everything. The fogmen have fairly high stats and attack in large numbers, but armour is so good at nullifying a lot of the damage they'll take. Always have a toughness over 30 if you plan on fighting them on all your units, or they'll just get stunlocked

I've only made two or three trips to Mongrel, but I never saw a fogman until I actually got to the city. On each of those trips I just had my fastest guy run in there and grab something before running out again. I didn't even realise that they attacked you in the fog until I started reading wiki's and forum posts, so maybe just having high athletics and a big backpack will be enough.
