Green biomes? How rare are these exactly?
So... I've gotten myself in a situation I wan't to make a home base now. And one thing I'd like is a green zone so I can get some good quality stuff growing. But... Is it really all over in holy territory? So far I'm finding just 10% green everywhere I look.

In fact I found an inhabited ancient ruin before I found a green biome. ... They're rarer than several century old ruins? Kind of amazing actually.

Just spent a few hours looking myself, checked some old forums posts also. Type map into search function for the forums here. You can find a whole map marked out by territory. To the north cannibal plains has some good spots but you need to fight. I'm about to search the south areas now.

All I really found so far in the south is areas around Vain, but that's obviously problematic... I suppose it makes sense that finding fertile green lands is a whole adventure on it's own though.

I don't see a problem with south of vain :) That's where I live, at the edge between vain and the border zone. In the future that will be hivers/shek territory, and they are not that terrible.
The biggest issue is how the terrain isn't flat at all.

Anyway, I feel the repartition of green and fertility is poorly done. I understand the whole map not being 100% green fertility, but right now we are looking at the majority of the map not being green except for the HN valley and a few areas here and there, usually very pooor for building (non flat at all, full of trees/water....).

Now, people might say that's for the difficulty, but that's not difficult. I play on a non flat area, and that's not difficult at all. That's just annoying because my building aren't straight at all (and by that I don't mean they like other buildings of the same gender).
Also, you can totally survive on arid forever. It's merely an annoyance. And annoying doesn't mean difficult.

Finally, it's ridiculous that most of the NPCs crops are actually in areas were they can't grow. Most of them have a 10%-0% fertility. Now, I understand for the hemp in the swamp, because there is an in lore explanation (how the big boss girl know how to grow hemp in the swamp), but for the rest ? Not really.

On a side note, even with the recent buff, hydroponic production is really slow, and your people will prefer to eat the few breads you'll make instead of the better food you can produce with it.

Anyway, there is a mod to have 100% fertility everywhere on the workshop, I think.

I found a decent spot, well kind of. It is south west of the waystation that is south west of hub. It has like 50% water 75% fert 100 stone, iron and copper deposits. Only downside is after building, I realized its in the path of a 5man berserker squad.

I agree with above poster. More areas should have a bit of green. Even if they are not buildable areas for us. I did notice the shek capital town has great resources explaining why its there. The other towns should also be on fertile spots.

They are living off all the meat of the creatures that attack them 24/7 that they never loot.
So the army is keeping UC alive.

The Gut is 100% Green and 100% fertile, water, iron all max (I belive). Too bad it's also infested by hundreds of BEAKTHINGS.

You may want to look up the wiki, gives zone infomation in full. And don't limit yourself to a region, most places have major flaws.

My suggestion is to look at places with the primary resource you want, afterwhich you look at all neighbouring zones as you can build on the edges where they overlap, giving you access to both biomes. In fact my bases overlaps 3 biomes with max green and arid fertility with plenty of water, high stone iron and wind, the other thing my base have limited but still available resource is copper. Food wise I only lack swamp type but that can be solved later on with hydroponic.

As an added bonus on one side of my base is a high clift (I force my enermies to run up the clift to my main gate for turrent height elevation bonus), The other 3 sizes are open empty space for expansion.

there are actually quite a bit of green environments, though yes, at first you can think they are very rare.

okrans pride of course, but also a great part of north west, if not north is green, burning forest is green too i believe, then howler maze, forbidden isle may also be green, and even fog island possibly

trick is green is were newbees don't go.
