Also, I believe the rates ares for items are dynamic. At least copper ore sells for a different amount every time I start a new game.
My suggestion is to try and figure out how to get the NPC's to come to your shop. I'm still working on it, and there's no clear information. :/
Squin has a decent amount of money to buy your goods since the 3 shops there have 25k cats each.
But as I said, you'll have to observe item prices.
Skeleton repair kits are a great trading item since they they're small (3x2 spaces), don't weigh much, and are expensive so you can have a huge profit margin on them. But that also means that you need to have quite a bit of money to start trading with them.
Go to the middle of the swamp. My last game the best price was in mud town I think. I got hash for 104 a pack. I would run it right next door to Shark and get over 150. So if you spent 20,000 you return with 30,000 and its a close safe trip. If you want to run across the map and sneak into cities and find buyers you can get more.
Its not worth it or profitable if you spend a small amount and do all the work running it. But when you are running hash you are supposed to have a guy with his back pack full. And if you are running goods you should have a gang of guys filled up or one those big ox things carrying them if thats part of the game.
That being said Trading is functional. Like alwayse buy low and sell high and you cant go wrong. Trade goods will show the local markup/markdown next to the items value
I did alot of runs for many days and the prices stayed the same on my list so I dont think it changes daily.
I just mean what are some safe city routes? Im pretty early in the game and i don't know what citys are safe for what race, for example as a skeletron i got stomped by holy but bugs seemed ok with me.
Unless you're a Male Greenlander, Holy Nation won't like you. They attack Skeletons on sight.
Hives will get hostile towards any of your own Hive charcters.
Sheks have some disdain towards anyone else not Shek. Not openly hostile, you just won't be able to hire some Shek characters until you have a Shek character to talk to them
Sake is usually priced cheap in Swampland, and sell well outside the Swamp.
Skeleton Repair Kits are the best size-to-cost ratio items, like someone already said. Buy low then sell high.
Honestly, the best early way to get money, with risks, is to loot Armories, Ancient Labs, Libraries, and Ancient Workshops. You'll need to train your Thievery, but otherwise there are locations without hostile creatures occupyng them. Keep your eyes open.
For skeletons the holy territory is pretty much a no go untill you can handle yourself in a fight. The swamps will have blood spiders which in the early game can and will one shot you. Vain has Beak things and gorillos. Anywhere up north hase eitehr berzerkers or cannibals.
The "safest" area ingame as of now is either the Shek territors or (if your a greenlander) The holy Nation. You also have the United Cities in the deep south who dont have any particular ire for Skeletons. However I've only been to that area infrequently and with an allready combat capable people, so i dont know how much of a threat the outlaw farmers are. You also have oppertunistic slavers who will slap some shackles on you if they catch you unconcious.
So I would reccommend Shek territories and Border zone while avoiding the spider plains, crators, and swamp borders.
Trading wise there isnt much variety there without going into some degree of danger though, but there should be enough between the city's and waystations.
keep in mind though, money is nice it does not buy you sucess. At some point your going to have to take some lumps. Which can be problematic for a newer player trying to play a skeleton. Your Repair equipment is not cheap. Its certanly doable, though you will likely run into difficulty's
