i think his spider body gaurds would disapprove of that action lol. But i agree, pathing is a pain, especially since most of the time my guy goes to the bridge that spans the river instead of going to the river

I still remember a bug months ago where captured merchant would still provide their services. When in a cage. In your outpost. "No worries, it's just business, I get it". I wonder if it was fixed^^

I haven't tried to take him down recently, but I never did take him down in the past, and I killed leviathan/bugmaster. That guy is tough, I remember his armor negating the majority of my cut damage.

Although the pathing is a pain the specific location of Armour King goes a long way in keeping his services "fair." It is incredibly easy to sneak around him and his security spiders to steal a few pieces of High Grade or Specialist Grade armour, not to mention the vast store of good armour he has for sale.

I wouldn't mind a change of location though, if that meant a little more juicy lore for both him and the Second Empire. :D

yeah i'd really like that.. it could be made into a quest where you ask him to come to your city / the hub / worlds end / wherever..
there was talk about your faction being targeted in the future according to wealth. it could be like if your powerful enough he will move..

i get that its supposed to be a pain but i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't be happy with a more convenient location ;-)

@nex once the games contents all in they should fix up the pathfinding hopefully.

Also my faction being targeted for wealth sounds fun as right now i eliminated every nest within 2km of my base and i have 190k cats + adozen edge 1-3 weapons and adozen specilist armors.
Fun fact is i'm only using 1 person and i stoped trying to make cats forever ago it just happens to keep growing.

i hope they will do something about this after release.. i'm thinking diplomacy / bribes / tributes etc..
i've also a save where my richess is INSANE.. 60 people in all masterwork gear:samurai armor / legplates / leather shirt / plated longboots / hood (dunno which), 3x storage of all kinds filled and some 350k in cash.. they will hunt me down if / when that gets implemented

Thinking about what you said maybe region tax.

All the good to build regions are owned by a faction and if you start building there you got 2 choices.
To go to war with the people that own the region where they constantly step up their attacks til entire armys are sieging your place.
Or pay them unreasonable amounts of money unless your in good favor with them then it's still alot but more reasonable.

That would add replayability and a money sink.
Also a fun way to fight a faction xD

I set up a forward base by Clownsteady and I just bring in hashish every day and make a killing lol up to about 1.2 mil. And I've always thought a really cool idea would be to be able to build roads in the build menu, the thinking being that it would allow you to create your own paths and if you upgraded the roads you'd move faster while on them. Like path>dirt road>cobblestone>highway or something like that that scales with research level.

You gave a fair enough reason for him to move to a different location. If such a "quest" was implemented based on the status of your wealth it would be pretty nice to have him set up shop closer. Maybe if a world state was added in which would require you reach X wealth for him to spawn in a newly spawned outpost or village, maybe just move in to one of the UC or Shek cities or even the Flotsam VIllage.

I generally agree with the yearning for a better Armour King location. That desire is generally satiated because, in a way, his bumpkin location seems to add to his legend.

if anyone can make a mod so i can imprison merchants (and they still work) i'd love that..
either way i'm kidnapping a HN merchant now to see if this is still a thing..

I havent had any touble. My tip to you is recognise that if your not in the cannibal plains or leviathan coast issuing move commands on the map produces less than ideal pathfinding. Make shorter more frequent commands on the landscape and pass the time with something on your second monitor.
You do have a second monitor right?
Fate (-{SoH}-) Jun 4, 2017 @ 5:42am
wish i had a second monitor alt tabing even in window mode seems to burn ram quickly.

I think the location of the Armour King is on purpose. For gameplay balance, it's hard to find, but he sell the best armor possible (outside crafting). Later on, the best weapons will likely be sold by the Black City skeletons (according to the FCS and the lore), who lives in an area too toxic for organics, so apparently you'll go there with skeletons only, or perhaps with enough protection like gasmask and so on. There is the idea that the better the item/merchant is, the more you have to look for it, and the more difficult it is.
For RP, he doesn't seems to care much about money, that's not like he has an occasion to spend it anyway. He is some kind of hermit at this point, and by his own words, people who want his armor find him anyway.

If I have a suggestion, use a skeleton to meet him. I go through the north pass because I don't want war with the HN. Not now anyway. They don't swim, so they are super fast.
