Depends of the amount of online players i guess, I have reloaded and revolution, the first one always have someone to play, in revolution instead is very hard find a online game.

It's a fun Worms game, but if you're concerned about playing online with an active community, then Armageddon is the game to get. Clan Wars has decent core gameplay but is missing features from older games, and has performance issues for several people. The online has also all but died off even though it at least had a small following on release.

The new gameplay features added in Revolution/Clan Wars are worth a look, but overall, this just doesn't top the older Worms games, so if you're only going to get one game, I'd get Armageddon.

Armageddon was free with Revolution pre-order as well. I yet to try it though.

Problem with Armageddon is you have to know the new rules that veterans layed out and if you don't, they'll kick you out their game before it begins, meaning you have to join their game and say a certain word to them to know you understand the rules they plan to play, I wouldn't recommend it to new comers really as a lot of them will just end up getting booted out of the games.

Armageddon have too many rules, is not funny, reloaded is the best worms so far ;)

Or you can host your own games.

But anyway, the above is only really done by other newbies who like to host quick Shopper games. No real WA veteran will demand that you guess the rules they intend to use in their host.

regarding clan wars.. not worth it in my opinion.. i've played the free multiplayer now and its just horrible.. really horrible.. ultimate lags, nearly no players (4-7 ppl online is a joke but ok ^^), identical to revolution but seems inferior somehow. maybe because of the overall design or because there are only 5 landscapes and not 10 like in revolution (or how many were there ? i don't remember anymore but with the season pass it was enough xD) and so on :(

i'm extremely dissapointed and glad that i installed the free multiplayer before buying this game. as it is now its not worth more then 5€ in my opinion :) i still like revolution much more

Just played it for a while, to see if it was any better than Revolution. It's very slightly better than Revolution, but it doesn't hold a candle to Armageddon or Reloaded. The whole game feels so clunky and boring.

If you want a "modern" Worms game, get Worms Reloaded. It's a pretty good game, but it's arguably not as good as Armageddon. I've had a lot of fun with Reloaded, but Armageddon is the best.
