$50 for a PS2/Wii game is outrageous
Was interested in trying this game with my friends, but apparently the Nintendo Switch store lists this game for $49.99, which is absurd.
This game came out in 2007. $50 for a game that came out 16 years ago.
$10 - $15 would be a better price tag.

It'll go on a 50-75% sale within a year, I'll wait for then.

It literally has online play with decent servers and doesn't require you to stream it (like you would on dolphin or some ♥♥♥♥). Lets just be thankful they even remembered it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ existed and gave us these modern ports with online connectivity.

Idea Factory has a trend of releasing their titles at a high price and then delivering larger sales over time. Don't want to pay $50? Then if you've waited this long, surely you can wait another year or three until the price is low enough?

I have not paid more than 5 bucks for a Idea Factory game, they go on sale frequently.

Wasn't aware of this. That's a silver lining, at least.
Launch price is still a little much for an old game, though.

Post like this always makes me angry, especially if its about a remake/port of games that i have waited for years.

If you don't like the price, just don't buy it, that how market works. It isn't something necessary, you can still live a good live without it. Or like everyone said just wait for sale.

"But its old game", does it matter if its old game if it is good? i think this game is way better than most $50 games out there.

I find it funny how people complain about the prices...
Too much for you? Don't buy it.
Too high of a cost? Wait for a sale.
Game too old for you? Look elsewhere.
I swear, most of you steam people are spoiled beyond believe.

Grow the ♥♥♥♥ up.

At the end of the day, if you don't like the price, don't buy it. That said, it's your right as a consumer to complain about prices if that's the thing holding you back; this game is worth 30 dollars, and that's how much I'm willing to pay and not voicing that to the company selling it is a disservice to both of us.

I don't think negotiating a satisfactory price is a 'childish' practice.

Okay and? People are allowed to have opinions other than yours. No one cares if you have no standards and would be fine paying 200 dollars for this.
Will it really go for 50 euro?
What the heck,i expected 15-20

Idea Factory is a company I love to support, for both games they make and/or publish. That being said, I can't justify the price for that one, so I'll keep it on the wish list and see how much it comes down to at the Steam Winter sale.

Mostly it comes down to being happy this port even exists, because I doubt Sting had any interest and if Atlus was responsible, it'd be with Denuvo or other intrusive DRM and with limited sales. At least this way I'll have a version to turn to long term that isn't tied to a console or emulation.

And being on PC makes for a higher chance of meaningful modding longterm.

There's nothing wrong with letting the developers know their thoughts.

Maybe they'll reconsider the price in the near future. If you don't ask, you don't get.

As of this message, not a single person who said the price is fine actually owns the game...

You know how much a physical copy of either PS2 or Wii copies would go for right now? A lot more than that. Be grateful it's only $50 on a current platform.
That's funny, I didn't know this was a physical copy. If I buy this game on Steam now then when and how can I expect to get my physical copy?

Over the last years I've spent a lot of money buying games for friends to play with them and have been looking forward to this one a lot, but this price is too steep even for me.

Oh no, don't you start in with that "thinking" nonsense. We should be thankful we even have the opportunity to buy this in the first place. Do you have any idea how much effort it took them to repackage an already finished game from 16 years ago? Realistically speaking, I think we can all agree that if anything they're undercharging us for the incredibly kind deed that is allowing us to give them money. Can't you appreciate for one moment how much of a personal favor that is to you and yours? What else were you going to do? Easily download and play the game for free like filthy animals? Why would you even want to do that? You even have to engage with childish mechanics like being able to change your opponents' names, or look at women who are marginally less clothed in the original.

Ew!

That's the kind of thing I'm glad to pay a premium for. Not new content, not new features, but the fact that they went the extra mile specifically to avoid offending my delicate sensibilities. And for that, I'm eternally grateful. =)
