Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a missed opportunity
Maybe the license was too expensive, but I can't believe the table is based on the most recent movie, which was the worst in the series and had the worst design for Leatherface. The table completely misses the mark. The look of the character and the artwork on the table is just horrible. If you ever do A Nightmare on Elm Street or FRIDAY THE 13th, PLEASE don't base it off the remakes.

I love this table. It's the only good thing about this movie.

True, I thought the recent film was terrible but works as a pin-theme. Can appreciate one based purely upon the original would be preferable.

Should Friday the 13th / Nightmare on Elm Street ever become potential themes I would like each to stick to their classic eras but perhaps not focus upon particular films.

This is pretty simple, really. Zen Studios have got an agreement with Legendary pictures (ex. Pacific Rim in Pinball FX) and the 2022 remake is the only movie released under them.
An excerpt from Wikipedia:
"After the release of Leatherface in 2017, Lionsgate had plans for five more films in the franchise. However, the studio lost the rights due to the time it took to release it. Legendary acquired the franchise's rights..."
I doubt that even if they had the chance to license the older titles to Zen, they would do so.

Well, the table is a banger even if the movie sucked.

You're losing me, Zen. I hardly touch Pinball M anymore and Pinball FX is hanging on by a thread (people ask for Williams, you don't deliver for close to a year)
Say what? That's a hot take, claiming nothing good has come out in the modern era.

Even Williams made good games out of bad films, new at the time.

People are asking for things other than recreations...or tables in general.

Lumping that one in with those other poor remakes shows that your taste is questionable. Tunnels aside, the remake is impressively everything that a Friday the 13th movie needs to be. Friday the 13th remake and the House of Wax remake are great!

came here to say the same thing. The table is good but I was expecting OG TCM 1 or 2 Leatherface, Cook, etc

Yeah, the OG would be better, but Zen has a licensing agreement with Legendary so I guess we get what we get. But regardless of which version, I agree with you, the table is good.

Hot take? Observable reality.

Hey it’s not the best TCM movie but it does reference the best scene in the movie; the bus scene!

I just watched this and... (ugh, sorry, simply thinking about this movie puts a bad taste in my mouth)... it's not only the worst Texas Chainsaw movie ever made, it's maybe the worst movie I've ever seen.

My buddy's sister dragged us to the Horse Whisperer in theatres when I was a kid and i had to sit through that for 3 hours. I swore I would never watch that movie ever again for any reason, but now, I would watch that instead of sitting through this texas chainsaw again.

Everyone says the bus scene is the best part...

There is a guy lying in the ground with his face slashed open... The woman from the bank sees him, runs back on the bus, and tells the driver to keep the door closed... but doesn't mention a single thing about the person with his face slashed.

The idiots keep partying, not phased in any way (Not sure what you need to be on to be that disconnected from reality, but I digress).

Next, people run onto the bus screaming for the driver to take off. The bus lurches forward and then breaks down.

The idiots are STILL oblivious to any change and are STILL dancing around and partying.

Then the coup de grace... A DUDE WITH A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CHAINSAW WEARING HUMAN SKIN FOR A FACE CLAMBERS ON BOARD.
Well, surely NOW they must start to panic and notice something is wrong you say?

Yes, you could be forgiven for thinking that. I made the same mistake.

What do they do instead?

Not one person, but EVERYONE, gets out their camera phones and buddy drops the all time line for any movie - he points the camera phone at Leatherface and says, "You're cancelled bro!"

ZING! DAAAAMNNN. Game f*ing over. What you going to do now chainsaw mfer?

Oh... he's going to carve us all up. Damn. Nobody saw that coming...

I never imagined it was that bad. That's horrific.

Rule of thumb, never watch anything made past the year 2014 roughly.

Me personally I pretty much think movies started to sort of suck starting in the mid 2000s, but 2014 is the pretty much hard and fast cut off.

Not into self conscious, self aware "irony" movies. "We're too cool to be sincere...sincerity's lame". etc. That's just my take on it from what little I've seen of it.
