Timing!! Marks and Ruck
does anyone have tips on the timing for marks and ruck? im constantly getting beaten on the harder difficulties and i cant figure out the ideal timing. i am aware that body position matters but its the timing that concerns me and i cant find a single tutorial or guide on it.

and yes i am aware that the game is broken but im trying to make the best of a bad situation.

There needs to be some meter, because it just feels like button bashing and hoping for the best. No skill, no speccies.

I swear it has become even more impossible since the last patch. Just getting absolutely smashed every game now hardly a change in "difficulty"

this game honestly needs a reality check.. playing on easy.. get caught and do a little pissy kick and cant get rid of the ball.. never seen so many hold the ball penalties in my life. fix this game honestly.. shouldnt have been released.
i'm glad i'm not the only one having issues here. at least give us some instruction on what to do. even the goal kicking makes no sense to me. just making it up as i go.

I've found using the R stick just when the ball is about to reach the top of its height after a bounce/throw up works most of the time.

In terms of marks, I just press it when it's a few metres close to its dropping zone indicated by the circle, but it's not perfect. I think positioning (similar to Evo) plays a role as well and maybe stats of the players, so sometimes you just aren't going to mark it, so try to mark on the lead or in front as its definitely easier.
Ok, so Big Ant has finally released a guide. Ruck contests are to be done at the peak of the ball flight. marking contests have a meter under the player. unfortunately thats still broken alot of the time but at least we have something to work on. body position is the biggest factor so if you're out of position you're better off punching anyway. sometimes thats not even enough and just have to accept that you were in a no win situation.

ive noticed since the patch with guide saying being in front is the best way to win marks isn't always the case, the only time its an easy mark is if your WAAAYYY in front and there's no chance the defender can get to it at all, if they can get to it but are still behind your player, your player will either, not even try to mark it and let it go over them, drop the mark, or let it slip through there hands so the defender marks it every time, and contest marking is even worse, it seems to me their half forward never loses a contest,he marks it every single time no matter if i punch or try to out mark him even if im in front
