The New Wagon Repair System
Does anyone else not like it? It's just... weird...

Is it only if you get the expansion? What did they do to it? I havent touched the game in many months. I was thinking of getting the expansion.. but might wait until the save issue is fixed (see the post below here).

Its not pure RNG anymore, just a little minigame that makes you press lmb when wrench icon is in right place. Far better than original one IMO.

Could not agree more. It is far less frustrating and time wasting than the previous system, a definite improvement.

Personally I think the new way sounds lame. RNG wasnt horrible for fixing stuff. IMO a big part of Organ Trail is the randomness.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this new way of repairing the wagon. The old way was just a cheap way for the game to screw you when it has so many other ways to do that (like scavenging, for example.)

Yeah, and scrap is so plentiful anyways, that I didn't mind the randomness of it.

It wasnt cheap. Getting scraps isnt hard to do though. Whats wrong with scavenging? Its RANDOM. Do you expect to just get a whole lot of stuff each and everytime? If thats the case, you are playing the wrong game. A big part of Organ Trail is the randomness (like I said above). It shouldnt be dumbed down anymore due to people not wanting a challenge.

pure randomness can be frustrating. We have plenty of that in the game as is. I wanted to make repairing more interactive. I think the best "random" in game design is a combination of random + skill. You're ability to react to the random factors is what makes it enjoyable and masterable IMO. There is a small amount of randomization in the current repair mechanic, in that each repair icon moves at random speeds (and faster the less scrap you use.)

The main reason we wanted to remove the old system is that if you got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the RNG then it really slowed the rest of the game to a halt. At least now if you mess up you can feel bad about yourself and less about the RNG. Haha.

Anyway, sorry if you don't prefer it but hopefully all the other updates and content make up for it.

Yeah, I prefer this system over RNG nonsense.

I guess you do make a good point, there. Anyways, I do like all the other updates! :D :pixeldead:

It's nice, but there needs to be an achievement attached to it. Like, say...

"I can fix it!"

Get 8 successful hits in a row, when fixing your car.
