Why don't you support steam cloud saves?
It's one of the major conveniences I buy games on steam instead of pirating them. Now I reinstalled my Windows and my savegame is gone :(

I didn't realize pirating games gave you a cloud save function. You'd still have to back up your file, not that you noticed. :beatmeat:

Auburok> what he meant is he likes Steam because it does cloud saves and pirated games don't.

Also, my guess as to why SS13 is not cloudsaved is because the windows version saves in a registry key instead of a file. This kinda limits cross-compatibility.

Couldsaves are great. And Surgeon Simulator is great. I would love to be able to move my linux save to windows and back.

I'm going to go buy your freaking OUYA dungeon game just because I love this game that much.

What Acidule said, Auburok >.<, my god, where have you learned how to read.

Cloud saves would be great, and if you see the info stored in the registry, it wouldn't be hard to make a plain text file with all that fields and values. But if they've done it like that, there must be some design decision behind.

Wait... the save in windows is... inside the registry?!?! Seriously? What the devs were smoking to design that? So if I backup my user files, reinstall my system, then my save "files" are gone? Wow! What's wrong with the good old %APPDATA% dir?

For a game that has just launched, aiming at cross compatibility across multiple OSes, and greenlit on Steam, this seems like a pretty awkward design decision

Yep MestreLion, it's what I noticed as well...Backupped my documents with /my games in it, backed up my appdata....and with Surgeon Simulator all progress is gone.
So, not only no Steam Cloud saves, also quite a burden to backup.

10 years later and this inconvenience is still a thing

Funny, it says on the store page that they do support cloud saves, but I guess it's a bald-faced lie.
