Is the game REALLY that bad?
I enjoy the game. I mean the original was a blast but i find it fun in its own right. I find this game to be one heck of a ride, a ridiculous adventure through wonky but cool controls trying to perform crazy surgeries. so you guys and gals who think its terrible. Look a different way and you may find something special.

It's not bad at all, at least in my opinion. There are /much/ worse games out there, that cost a lot more than 9.99. I love this game, and the devs seem to keep in contact with the fans, which is a huge plus.

My only reason for this was the amount of negative comments on this game. I think their main gripe was they thought it was a serious surgeon game. I think 9.99 is a good price as well.

It's pretty clear from the store page that this game isn't serious in any way. Anyone that thought differently either can't read, or didn't bother to read the store page. Considering that the number of illiterate people that can also navigate Steam likely numbers in the single digits, I don't think we'll see any Steam games marketed toward people that can't read/write. :P If they just didn't bother to read, that's their own damn fault.

True sir. Quite true

The video on the store page is 1 minute and 8 seconds long. You can clearly see it's not a serious simulator. Half the people complaining are trolls (some names look familiar from similarly dumb posts on other forums) and the other half maybe should read the entire store page and watching the 1 minute video before clicking purchase. The trolls would be here posting dumb threads no matter what the game is.

The game is fantastic. So much fun for $10. There is nothing else in the steam store similar to this game - totally unique. I hope they add to the game, I would even pay for DLC. They could even turn it into a semi-realistic simulator (not sure how you would handle 2 hands, but maybe a toggle from left to right hand controls).

Thanks guys. I really appreciate your opinions and shedding light on this subject to me.

I'd say it's reasonably fun for what it is, and you should get your $10 out of it. However, it's not as crazy as it could be, there isn't much content there, and sometimes it's annoying controls are just annoying, and not good for gameplay. Making the damn hand pick up the left kidney shouldn't be my primary concern, I'd prefer it to be poor grip and harder surgeries.

I'd like to see a version of the game which either went through with the crazy promise of the game (had more plot explaining and following the incredibly terrifying main character) and more wacky surgeries; or just had a better control and more difficult procedures. Like imagine having better controls and having to do a reasonable heart transplant, including replacing his organs back at the end.

Probably the biggest one is that there isn't that much content (7 levels total), and it doesn't really expand too much beyond the initial concept.

The reason being is that there's an objective. And when you can't fulfill that objective because of terrible controls and at no fault to you, but the game, it makes people furious. One example is the kidney transplant level. The part where you're taking the kidneys out seems to be specifically engineered to piss people off, notably the left kidney is virtually impossible to take out without nudging it down with something. Not to mention the stupid amount of times your hand gets stuck on things.
By going this way, a car or some other mechanical or electronic devices are terrible, too, because when you want to replace a single part that's broken, you sometimes need to disassemble the whole thing, otherwise on 99% you won't be able to reach it with only your hand, and if you reach it, your hand can stuck. Then by the way you notice there are some latches holding the thing which are impossible to open without knowing their exact locations and some other tools. Finally, after replacing the said part you still need to assemble the whole thing back, which is usually even more frustrating (and this part of the objective isn't even included in the game). You feel helpless.

Yeah, I prefer this game much more than disassembling real things. It can't frustrate me and I don't feel helpless if I can't do something with it, like with real things, because it's only a game, and I can always reset the level to try again. And the controls aren't terrible at all. You get used to them.

Huh? There are eight by my count. The six main missions, the bonus disk you get after completing them, and the TF2 tape.

If you check the date of the post you quoted, you'll get why there were only 7 levels mentioned.

This game is fun and frustrating at same time =)

But of course, it doesn't need to make sense to you, because you don't have to disassemble any devices and assemble them back to check how much more frustrating it would be than playing this game.

But saying that not being able to handle controls of the game which were designed this way is game's fault makes zero sense, too.

If you knew you wouldn't be able to handle the controls, you shouldn't have bought the game. There is a demo/prototype of the game available, where you could check whether you will like this game or not.

It is indeed an interesting concept game, and it's pretty cool that it was made so quickly. However, the controls just feel too awkward to me. I'm not a fan. Maybe I'll give it another go in a few weeks, but I have way too many other games I'd rather play.

Sorry. Didn't expect this thread to be that old...
