Any word on A Small Loan adjustments?

There was a poster who claimed to have emailed the devs and gotten a reply that they were going to adjust the Damage/Cost mechanics soon but I haven't seen any official announcements about it.

Hey folks!

The 'A Small Loan From My Father' achievement has proven to be quite the challenge, and stirred a lot of discussions about its difficulty. Thing is, it was meant to be just that: a very difficult achievement indeed. After lengthy conversations internally we have decided to leave the achievement in it's current form. It's definitely not impossible as quite a few people got it already!

There are a couple of ways to get it, some actually pretty manageable once you figure out things such as the vodka stopping blood loss.

whilst it is obviously technically possible for some people to get the achievement, other people can not no matter what they do. can you explain how your supposed to get the achievement or did you plan on making it a massive RNG timesink? because i can do absolutly everything in each of those videos perfectly and not get near the required amount

the method most people had for getting is is repetadly taking a wild swing at the rib cage/his head and hoping for what i can only assume is a bug in what the amount of blood loss is for some unknown mystery reason lower than usual

at this point you haven't created a hard achievement you've created a massive RNG one that some people feel they will never be able to get, not because of skill but because of computer setup

I have tried many times and gotten many attempts where the patient never lost more than 10ml of blood due to loss rate, yet the closest I have gotten was 990k. Everytime I try to replicate what those videos do I get less money than them while being at the same blood level or lower. It seems to me it's just pure RNG instead of being based on skill.

At this point I'd rather have the achievement be completely impossible to get instead of it's current state, because then it would atleast be fixed.

Edit: Well after trying my hardest to replicate the first video I managed to get it. I guess that method is really just the best way of getting it then.

It's completely bugged, for those that get the achievement.

Trust me, i've put a lot of time in trying to get this last achievement and there is no way of doing it without some kind of glitch within the game that allows you to have enough blood left to get the required medical costs.

You will always run out of blood, no matter what you do. And i've done this stuff perfectly with using vodka to minimise blood loss and doing the one swing trick to take out the ribcage in one attempt. But yet, it's still not enough.....

This game doesn't already have a ton of actually difficult achievements that take skill? All of the RNG involved in this doesn't make it 'hard'. It makes it frustratingly stupid.

I'm quite sure the money/blood lost ratio is not the same depending on the hardware/configuratiuon you use; I have tried the methods shown in the videos, and I am constantly checking the money/blood ratio during the operation, and is never above the neccesary ratio to achieve the million dollars before the blood runs off.

I just did it, took about an hour or so, it's not bad if you follow the first video the devs posted above. Does require lots of Patience and Time (Destiny reference right there) but it's a cool Achievement that's actually difficult!

I made it out with 5ml of blood just like in the video above too hehe.

I need to slap the lung harder then .I was hitting it too gently and wasnt getting enough money built up.MaybeI I will try left handed instead of always right.Anyway thanks.

Good point and I made the same observation. Little whacks that lose 1-5ml of blood doesnt give much money, you wanna whack the lungs with as many 10-30ml hits as possible, those increment the cost by a frw thousands each time

I loved all the achievements in this game, they require skill and mastering the controls. This one however, is complete garbage. Terribly designed, it makes no sense and is not fun at all.

There is nothing to indicate how to go about this. I tried the lung tapping method, one time I did small 1-2 ml taps and got to 997K, other times I tried big swings for 40 ml swings, also got close, but it simply isn't enough. Most frustratingly, there is nothing to let me know what I should be doing differently. It just seems like pure luck grinding.

I seriously hope you reconsider changing this achievement, as in current state it just makes me regret all the time I spent trying to 100% this game.

I've been at this achievement for quite some time myself. And i've just nailed it with the method in the first video. It takes time. It takes luck. But it's doable.
