I absolutely adore this game. A very comfy puzzle game that you can spend 5 minutes or 5 hours playing.

if you like those phone puzzle games like Pipez you will like this. But I feel like it's actually challenging!

This cosy and very playable puzzler has a concept not unlike Mini Metro and those old skool plumber games. If you really like the logic and efficiency needed for that kind of game this will be an absolute winner for you.

It's clever yet devious and like all the best puzzlers draws you in with it' simple idea but as you get through
the levels eventually ends up beating you round the head with it's carefully cushioned hammer of fiendish-ness.

Tons of content plus workshop creations add to the value for addicts who can't live without the pain of this electricity, with the only drawback being for achievement hunters who will find this one hard and lengthy to fully beat.

One of the best-made games in its genre.

I really, REALLY, wish I could give this game a positive review.
After all the idea, while not novel, is interesting, especially for a math-inclined person like myself. The graphics, while 8-bit, fit the game's concept splendidly and are colorful, fun, and varied. The music chill and calm. The amount of levels plenty.

So, why am I giving this one a thumbs down?

Because of its complexity.
Call me a trophy-hunter, completionist, whatever... in this type of puzzle games I like getting, or at least trying my best, to get the 3 stars on all levels.

That's simply not happening on this game.
The house spawning is random, the levels getting bigger and more complex, and in order to get 3 stars there's a strict "no special tools" rules, making solving these levels with a 3 star rating a chore right from the get go, level 1, and is harder, more of a chore, with every next map.

Had this rule been relaxed, so winning 3 stars could be achieved more easily, I would have given this game top props without even batting an eyelid... I did mean all the nice things I said in the beginning of this review.
Simply COMPLETING the levels, using the special tools... is NOT easy-peasy, but doable.
(Especially if you don't mind lowering your expectation all together and taking a 1 star rating more often than not. But if this IS you, why are you even playing this type of games anyways?)

At it's current form, I'm doing the equivalent of rage-quitting for a puzzle game.
I actually like putting some thought into a solution to make it the best I can. Redesigning, moving things around, even refactoring whole sections of a solution to make another section better.
I love and have all the Zachtronics, and plenty of Zach-like, games.

What I don't like is grinding to get the 3 star rating.
There's a HUGE difference between putting in some thought, even a lot of it, iterating over and over, and grind.
This game is, unfortunately, the latter.

Think I'll go back to "Mini Metro" and "Mini Motorways" and the rest of my Zach-like games.

I love that it's flexible for a puzzle game, super cozy just wiring stuff randomly until you trap yourself into a corner :>

Extremely satisfying puzzle game that can be as challenging or easy as you want it to be.

Fun and simple puzzle game. It's easy enough for my 5 year old to play, but it gets a lot more difficult if you try for perfect scores. It's both casual and challenging. Great value for $5. Highly recommended!

Quick Description:
-Can't Live Without Electricity is a fun, well designed, puzzle strategy game. Mini Motorways is probably the closest comparison or possibly Dorfromantik. While I don't think this game looks as good as either of those two visually, I think that this may be my favorite of the three. This is a really charming, fun, and strategic game that starts to get a bit chaotic (in a good way) as you get deeper into levels. My biggest complaint w/ Dorfromantik was that while it's incredibly peaceful, it never felt strategic enough for me. My one gripe w/ CLWE is that it can be really frustrating when you get a few rounds of extremely bad luck, sometimes making it feel close to impossible to find a solution to a problem (I don't think this happens that often).

Consensus:
-Solid Game (Tier 3 and makes up 35% of my reviews). At $5, this game is a slam dunk pickup for anyone that has any interest in these types of games. It's very well polished, has close to 30 different levels, and is a very easy game to play for a few minutes or get consumed for hours at a time. This is a really easy game to recommend, so pick it up if you are looking for something new and fun to play!
