X rifle vs Laser rifle

Dont get the point in upgrading my Laser to Xray...gains 50 penetration and 10 acuracy(and rad status), but loses 10(40%) shots per cell pack and durability... both have 5 mod slots.

Switcihng between pulse/laser rifle gives me better results in ammo saving than pulse/Xrifle.

Something im missing?

I guess if you happened to have X-Rifle materials and a very desperate and immediate need for a weapon upgrade. But other than that, the pulse rifle is one of the most powerful weapons in the game and you'd be kind of silly not to make one.

Or if you didn't know the pulse rifle was a thing.

I mean than having a pulse rifle..in some situations is better to shoot a 30/50 dmg single shot (To kill a bleeding though enemy for example) than a 3shoot barrage. In those cases i see almost no difference between laser and xrifle...but xrifle round is 40% more expensive than a rifle shoot.

Eh. If I need to kill a bleeding enemy I'm probably not going to use a backpack weapon. The one exception would be a Hopkinite, and by the time you have access to an X-Rifle they're not really serious enough to warrant an entire weapon just to deal with them.

Besides, by the time I get a pulse rifle I'm usually carrying 1-2 carbines-as-backpacks, and it's usually pretty easy to craft a spare backpack if they're empty.
