Explain Chocolate Fondue recipe to me

So, there is this "Chocolate Fondue" recipe which requires 2 chocolate eggs, Tarka Warbread and 2 other ingredients.
Each chocolate egg has a nutritional value of 100 Food, and with the bread on top, 250 total - but the resulting fondue is only worth 150 Food, less nutrition than the ingredients combined!
There must be some hidden buff/benefit to that dish, right? Otherwise it would make no sense at all

I can't remember specifically what extra effects choc fondue has, but you're right, there are added bonus effects for many crafted food items such as increasing your total food capacity, cleansing you of debuffs and recharging psi points.

where can I see this added effects?
If chocolate fondue did some of those things I don't think I would ever realize even in 500 hours of play, and so I can't strategize around the item

you have to check the wiki for details. Effect: +150 food (-170 below ingredients), restores 200 health, grants 500 experience

And that is not useful in any way.

a lot of the recipes are not useful. . . and they require such specific and rare ingredients, you could go multiple runs and never be able to craft one.

in 336 hours, i haven't managed to craft a single trail mix
