How is a seriously able to score less then hard and barely more then normal? It's literally 2 and 4 times the points a kill.

Oh I suppose minions wouldn't count as kills?

A lot of the times on harder difficulties you're skipping entire rooms, or if you're feeling brave enough, using wormhole traps to get you lower. When you have the equipment to kill the final boss, you just want to get to the end ASAP before The Pit throws something stupidly unfair at you, and every floor is like a deathtrap except for the last floor which you can manipulate how difficult of a path you want to the end room (the second to the last room always being more or less the same).

So this would give me a lot of points and EXP in game... but I ain't going nowhere near that.

On Seriously?! player receives only 40% Experience per kill/action. But final score is Experience x 400%.
lvl 31 in total is much less Experience than lvl 55.

Right now I have a ranger run going very smoothly at floor 36 and a ridiculously stressful Hiver run at floor 40. The Hiver run still is shaky, the last room is going to be tricky, but getting there might be even trickier. Floor 39 was a huge nightmare since I spawned in a room near proximity to the mech bay/storage and out poured the warbots.

I have enough energy backpacks, it just a matter of surviving, and I don't have much instant healing. KO grenades are my biggest fear, already died once to it carelessly (used up my emergency regenerator which I was hoping to save for the final floor).

On the bright side, picking up a modified Tarka Warhammer (not sure the exact name) on floor 27 saved me a TON of resources: healing items, ammo etc. The hammer inflicts poison lvl 6, so all the stupid cyborg bears I came across died in moments after getting poisoned. What a champ item lol...

Wish me luck.

Jaaku Shearer is a great weapon, too bad Warrior has 0 accuracy on it. Good thing is cyber bears have low chance to dodge. Good luck with your runs.

Give us an update when you're done, one way or another :-)

I just finished my Marine win. Such a stressful run. Got teleported into a room full of Pain Heralds and an Unknown Agent. Didn't wan't to die of KO so kept my armor on. Chitin plate had 56 armor by the time I got out. But I had a cleaver autoshotty and a meson, so I had the last laugh. Only the Shepard and Lich are left!
spoofy1085 Aug 22, 2017 @ 9:54pm
Oh my, marine insane...

"The Eternal Struggle"

Grats! That definitely deserves a hat tip. And that scenario sounds brutal! I had one wormhole trap into a shrine room on my Hiver but luckily it was only doctors and a Xombie Liir. Still ate through quite a bit of instant healing though. I do NOT look forward to a marine insane run, but at least I can likely count on having armor for that run.

I don't know how many attempts I've tried at Hiver Insane but every time zero armor drops. Always had to rely on crafting Impact Armor. My stack of Living Steel patches need some love...

Ironically enough, my Striker Insane win had zero appropiate armor drops and I found Ceramic Plate on her. On this Warrior run zero appropiate armor drops and found TWO Absorption Scales. The Pit is indeed cruel.

So I completed Hiver Insane. The last floor was not nearly as stressful as I thought, and the final boss I was really lucky apparently. I didn't go through the Morrigi Museum, which is the fastest route but the most dangerous. I didn't have the firepower for it, no Pulse Rifle or any good high penetration assault rifle honestly, and no Meson/Googleplex to 2 shot the mechs. Decided to take the right path through the protean chamber and head left from there. Lots of KO grenades, but I carefully aggroed the dangerous mobs out of the room which left only the KO grenade throwers and they were not too dangerous to deal with themselves. I crafted 2 Impact Armors and a Duct Tape armor with the one lab that was offered to me on the last floor, plus a another targeting helm and marched on to victory. I'm SO glad that is over, so many potentially good runs dead, it's good to put this class behind me. I honestly love Rapari but he is one of the most difficult classes to beat the game on.

Some notables of the run:

-Found another slave collar really early in the run. But I didn't use it except for resting until I had my power stat above 35 (not making THAT mistake again...) in which I used it consistently unless I was heavily poisoned/diseased/irradiated. Made food essentially a non-issue. Also made an ABSURD amount of protean bath checks, which really put food issues at rest. GG Bourdox.

-Another shotgun run, which is so good on the Warrior because with no psionics ammo becomes a huge problem. Finding the Jaaku Shearer made dealing with Cyberjaeger Bears/Rampaging Cyborgs/Scrap Hulks a breeze. Fight near a door, poison them, then keep shutting the door as they try to open it. Dead in 5 turns avg. Really hilarious. Finally, score one for the good guys and not the Pit. I also found a Vorpal blade floor 24 which replaced my Ri, and another at floor 34 to replace my low durability one. Rocket launcher too with about 10 shots was fun.

-The amount of tools I had on the Hiver was insane, actually a huge chore to manage. I think I had 10 tools total? Hiver tool, Digital Assistant (I found 5 of these, just kept ditching the used up ones), Purifier, Scanning Analyzer (found 3 of these, and also found ALL weapon bio mods, which is actually insane), EZ cooker (which made biotech really easy to lvl in the beginning, so lucky), Boudoux (found this later in the run but made crafting Pit Stew quite successful), Digital Interpreter, crafted a Rosetta Brain, Squawker Drone dropped from a Morrigi Recreant which surprised me honestly, Pocket Doc, and a Cloaking belt which actually saved my butt real good entering floor 39 as the room I spawned in was harsh. Thankfully, the game offered a lot of recharge traps. No cleanser traps in the end game though, but that was ok since I just spent a lot of time resting. Also allows me to recharge my tools!

Here are some screenshots. I forgot to take a screenshot of my skills, but essentially in the end, Brains and Power 40, Finesse was 80 or something high, Might was 80 or 85 not sure.

Pumped Rifle every level once I got a rifle weapon until base skill was 85.
Pumped Pistol every level until my Kheraizen was too damaged to be usable. It was about 70 or 75 base in the end.

Pumped Blade once I got Vorpal Blade when I had the chance. The time I got Vorpal Blade I needed to pump other misc skills like biotech, foraging, mechanical, electronics, to ensure 99% crafted common items like backpacks, hero sotswiches, pistol conversion for shotgun shells.

I had Manipulation and Psi Shield. Psi shield didn't help much, but it did a little. Manipulation was pretty keen in several areas.

Hope this entertained you and GL to everyone in their adventures into the Pit. Also, I'm sorry I don't know how to pronounce your name (I think it's in Russian), but when you mentioned Turret Override in your Seriously! Lich run, it made me think about using in my Insane run. Kudos to you, because that Turret Override killed many Slave Pen rooms full of Rippers. It was actually glorious to watch. I definitely need to utilize that more.

It's pronounced Patsancheg.
Congratulations, Warrior Insane is a huge accomplishment.
Turret Override is amazing on Medium turrets, if the turret is in long hallway, all mobs are coming from one direction and the turret keep damaging them and pushing back the way they come. If the turret is in the room, you can camp near it. If you take the short route at floor 40, there is always 1 Medium turret in a Tarka Var/Warbot room, if you manage to clear the room without killing the turret, it will deal with all the Mechanodogs, Agents and Security bots coming from Hvy bot room.
But the turret itself need some protection, any Warbots, Hvy Morrigi Drones will 1-shot it.
That Laser Sword screenshot was epic :snaggletooth:
·· Aug 23, 2017 @ 3:36am
does it work on small turrets?
Azulavis Aug 23, 2017 @ 3:57am
Yes, it does but it's inefficient to use on Light turrets.
Turret Override recipe requires an Energy Cell.
1 Energy Cell equal ~6 Laser Rifle shots.
Even the Light Turret Mk3 is unable to output damage worth 1 Energy Cell.
But it's all situational, you can override any turret if you think it's worth in a certain situation.
I forgot to mention that turrets can see throuth invisibility. If you cast Invisibility on yourself and enter a room with a turret, that turret will shot you immediately.

Congratulations and thanks for the write up! Finishing the hiver insane without ceramic plate should be an achievement all by itself. Actually no, I don't want to have to try and get it myself, haha. I'll second Patsancheg, that's a cool victory shot with the sword.

I would love to find a slave collar on my Shepard run. Found an early crusader armor which has an amazing 90 armor rating and boosts power by 30. But the damn thing increases hunger by 20% so I'm hoping I can last long enough to get to metabolic control.
spoofy1085 Aug 23, 2017 @ 7:22pm
Thanks Nicholizard and Patsancheg. Also grats Patsancheg on your seriously! Lich run. I think after I complete Ranger Insane I'll move into Lich as I really like how very different that class is compared to the rest.

The Crusader Armor is really really strong, but the hunger increase is SO brutal on the shephard. I did have a failed run where I had that armor, but the hunger consumption is too much. You need either Metabolic Control, or get extremely lucky and find a way to increase your inventory so you can carry 2 armors and use the Crusader Armor only for armouries, secruity stations, mech labs/storage, and entering a new floor.
spoofy1085 Aug 29, 2017 @ 2:08pm
So another Insane run completed. Ranger is done. The run was really easy. Pretty much the best items you can find was found on this run: auto-shotty, ceramic plate, enduro laser carbine (which is really awesome actually). Also found superconductors and a couple laser rifle drops so made a pulse rifle. Top it all off with an Amerishield and the run was a cakewalk most of the game. Also found that gas mask that makes you immune to KO grenades which made me feel really confident about survivability.

I feel now I'll take a break for a bit, come back and try lich. Hope everyone is doing well with their Pit adventures.
Nicholizard Aug 31, 2017 @ 5:18pm
Congrats on the Ranger win! It's nice to have an easy run after surviving the trials of Rapari. Never had the Amerishield, it's amazing how many rare items there are in this game.

I just finished up my Shepard run. After getting the crusader armor (and having no backup) it was all about limiting backtracking. Got lucky with a utility belt, and went for the lifter pack before getting claws or chitin plate. It was pretty tense from 12-25th floors, but eventually got ceramic plate, enduro carbine, auto-shotty, and a ez-cooker so didn't need to manage metabolic control so diligently. This was the only run that I've kept an extra life on me. Not easy to manage with his tiny inventory, but he's so squishy that I didn't want to get YASD'd. Almost got one-shot from full health by a harpy warbot that was patrolling a hallway. While the double meson shots were coming I couldn't remember if I had dropped it momentarily to migrate some items and nearly had a heart attack! Had about 50 health after.

It's just the lich left now. I have a floor 18 seriously run going, but he doesn't have good armor so the damage is getting pretty hard to deal with.
