For anyone looking to learn detailed information about the Pit, I encourage you to check out the Japanese wiki. All the stats for monsters and items; it even has detailed information on various mechanics like damage formulas. Google translate does a passable job. Not for people who enjoy preserving the mystery.

I don't think it shows up normally but I remember seeing a stream where someone used the transmogrifier ray and got it. It was pretty freaky!

Maybe it only shows up while playing the necromancer? I know some enemies like the Hiver Cold One(beer joke goes here) won't show up below hard, but i've done nothing but hard runs for over a year and i'd never seen that before.
