How to Beat the Game?
Man im frustrated...Playing this Game since 2-3 Years and i didnt even beat it.....The Mainreason was, i did not understood the Safe Rooms.
Now i encrypted them.....
So now i want to finish the game at least 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Time.
Any Tips How Many XP i should deposit in the Safe Rooms, and which Floor should i choose?
In my last run, i saved 30.000xp with the Ranger in Floor 15 on Easy.Should i do more Runs to deposit more xp on Floor 15 ?

Is it even possible to beat the Game without the Saferooms?
Any Tips?
How did you Beat the Game?

Greetings

Well, you better start from the begining and keep all your XP and stuff you need. You can beat the game without using it, wich I never did, but i can't tell I tried that hard lol.

I beat game couple of times on easy, but it took 300 hours. After I played on normal with savescumming, and beat game couple more times. Now I am trying hard, with doing 3 runs to saferoom with ranger and stocking those tasty Sars and other items.

I beat the game on easy with every character and with some on normal (without the blue locker), still trying to beat it with all before moving on to hard. You need to learn the mechanics, get familiar with the mob and use some important recipes (which you can look up on the wiki) like the adamantium claws for example. If you know the game well, it isn´t that hard to beat it on easy even without the blue lockers, which I consider as "cheating"... ;-)

It's incredibly hard, but the key to surviving longer is putting a point into foraging with every level (so drops are better) and discovering recipes. If you play on easy, you will only discover the first 50 recipes, which will not be enough to take full advantage of crafting. Play as engineer, seeker, or striker on medium since they all have a pretty high starting decipher level.

Learn to avoid big rooms full of hard hitting security bots, big monsters like the slime creatures, and don't be afraid to run away.

You can cheese it too by looking up the recipes, but that only furthers the lack of reward you'll feel from having bad runs.

If u want to win, you should pick Seeker,Ranger or Scout as your character. All of them are quite strong. You DON'T start from blue(safe) room, beacuse no matter how many xp you will store in XP locker and no matter how much lvls you'll gain, you'll can put points in skills as many times as on which floor you started from blue room example: You stored enough XP to get 50 lvl on locker on floor 10.You can lvl up skill only 10 times cause you started on floor 10, it doesn't matter that u have 50 lvl.Stat points are unaffected by that, so you can raise this as much you want. When starting from blue room you'll miss very important natural skill ups, so starting from there will leave you in very big skill disadvantage on lockpick, electronics, mechanical, computer, decipher, foraging (on some characters with melee, biotech, knife, blade, medical). I've also heard that starting from blue room gives you lower chance to find rare items, but I'm not sure for that.

Seeker is literally carried by his starting psionics and can 1 shot a lot of things with TK Fist when TK reaches 100 and shrapnel Storm is guaranteed damaging paralyze for 4 turns, pump Empathy to Psi Drain, Redaction to Metabolic Control, cause seeker is quite hungry,Manifestation to Fire, you can cast fire on door and it will lvl up by itself to 100 quickly, Mecha Empathy to Sabotage if u want and going to get 100 on resistance isn't a bad idea, because Liir has very tight armor selection and Maxed resistance gives +33 armor with Psi Armor. Get Foraging to 80.Left points you can put into mechanical, lockpick, electronics, computer of any weapon skill.Seeker starts with Liir Edu-Pet which can give u +3-10 on non-weapon skill, so u can restart until you get one you want like +Redaction, +Empathy +Mecha Empathy if u go in that also.Seeker has the lowest HP gain which is +13 HP per lvl,so you want to keep you at high health and open things that can explode on fail check like weapons vaults, ammo dispensers, secure ammo lockers with manipulation if u don't have 99% chance.Stat points you want put them most of the time on might to get +6 inv space for every +10 might, and bump power to 100 to have max chance to hit Psi Drain and Fear. Use invincibility to enter every new floor,to don't get rekted after entering it.Seeker starts with the highest decipher in the game ( 70 + 16 from brain ), so getting recipes while playing seeker is easy.

Scout with 8 skill points can make her very strong, on her you want to put 4/8 skill points into Empathy to Psi Drain , Telekinesis to Shrapnel Storm, Mecha Empathy to Sabotage (I also recommend to go still for Subvert) and Resistance to Invisibility. Getting Berserk from War Mind skill tree is also useful. Rest 4 points you can put into weapon and opening skills which are very important for her. I'll sugest to get +10-15 might at the beggining to have higher chance to resist poison etc. and to get +6 inv space, after that bump power to 70 to have higher chance of hitting Fear. After that point put them on might or power as you prefer, but having more inv space is very useful.

Ranger is just very good is lots of aspects, high starting skills, but she's not too good psi user,so you should go for resistance only to get invincible skill. Whole rest goes for weapon and other skills like lockpick and mechanical. You can give stat points to power and might until you have 100, never put points on brain for any character, get finesse to 65-70 so when you got poisoned or diseased you still can use weapons like Laser Carbine. She can't wear heavy armor, but she can use heavy weapons that require PBA or any other heavy armor without it, so that's a huge + for her.

You want to try to get 80 foraging on every character, but on some it's kinda impossible.

I've made without blue rooms easy on scout and ranger, normal on seeker. Now I'm trying other on hard for like 40h

Don't fell bad about getting some important recipes from wiki. They'll sure help you a lot.(Diagnostic Chip, Spore Dagger, Adamantium Claws

Hope it helps, took a lot of time wrote this ;)

I think 4-5 SARs at level 5 compensate penalties more than enough.
WOJT explained very well, as psionic guys are strong, especially Liir.

Well, if u dump enough xp to get sth like 50-60 lvl from xp locker,it's gonna do a thing (probably)
But playing in that way won't teach you how to survive with weaker items, and getting 110% from u and your current items to survive and progress, also getting very high lvl from xp locker, you will lose A LOT of full heals from lvling up, which are very inportant. Using only blue rooms to even start a run won't teach you how to play better. If u will have 4-5 SARs and you will just span everything with them, you won't see a playing this gave without them.
L33tleboy Jan 26, 2017 @ 8:45pm
I recommend to keep your total Foraging at 70. The reason is that at 80 you start to find rockets instead of bullets (ammo lockers) and serums instead of food (freezers). If you keep Foraging at 79, you'll be unable to use Brain boost serums, as total bonus from brains will raise Foraging to 80.
Every time you open containers with Mechanical, Computer, Lockpick your Foraging will raise by 1 (if it is below 45). This tactic is used in "backtrack strategy" - play as Engineer and skip rot piles on floors 1-4. Clear floor 4 and open all Mechanical and Computer containters - this will boost your Foraging. Don't enter floor 5 because floor 1 will became sealed. Go back to floor 1 and search the rot piles.
Engineer is one of 2 classes with highest experience gain (the other one is Striker). He will level up very fast and be above level 50 on the final floor. Go for Mechanical (Chitin plate armor, Adamantium claws & more), Computer (repair stations, identification of biomods, armor & food lockers, tactical databases, mod works & more), Biotech (advanced food, craft bio-blaster, mod works), Empathy (Psi drain), Telekinesis ( Shrapnel storm), Mecha empathy (Sabotage), Resistance (Psi armor). Weapon skills - it depends on what you'll find.

As for Blue room - it's easy to do. Floor 5 Blue room. Weapons, tools and warbread from Mercenary (do like 30 runs from floor 0 to 5 to bring enough bullets and bread for entire run), nano reconstructors, psi boosters and meat from Lich (4 runs), medications and energy cells from medic (3 runs), Laser pistol from Psion, Scanning analyser from Striker. After that your run is set, you'll be able to steamroll everything, especially on Easy.

Yes, but 50% of my deaths were:
1. Triggering wormhole trap and dropping 3 levels lower into company of 5 lvl3 bots.
2. Having 25% of health and 1% away from next levelup, running into mine.
3. Being feared by enemies and running into blobs of deaths.
4. Running out of bullets on level 35, as last levels give you almost no ammo.
5. Oh, oh, Zeta door blocking exit to next floor, with crazy damage reduction.

Most of those deaths cannot be improved by playing 110%, or 200% effectively.
I do understand what you are saying, and partially agree. And psionics to cover most of those issues. I just prefer to play less psionic characters overall.
WOJT Jan 27, 2017 @ 3:29am
well,l33tleboy said what u can do,+3k ammo on merc weapon will set you for (I think)
L33tleboy Jan 27, 2017 @ 6:37am
Both Hinge Spikes and Door Spikes will break through any door, they also easy to craft.
Hum Gum cures Fear.
Try to melee everything and save as many bullets as possible.
If low on health - rest until you have 65 hp and wear your armor.
Always carry teleport trap with you, in bad situation (like spepped on wormhole) start to set up the trap, enemy attack will interrupt you and trigger the trap teleporting you somewhere else.
Terror trap will help if you are ambushed by strong organic enemies (like cats). Start setting the trap, their attack will trigger it and fear everything. Use Hum Gum afterwards.

any tips for completing game with warrior on easy? i was adding points to resistance and telekinesis and finesse at beginning, then secondary: foraging, computer, electronics, biotech, mechanical... weapon pistol.

Warrior has the lowest psi regen and his psi pool doesn't increase on level up. Raise telekinesis to Manipulation and resistance to Psi armor, stop leveling psi skills after that.
His main strength is his pistol Kheraisen. Try save the durability on it and repair it only with nano-reconstructors for maximum efficiency.
Final boss will be a huge problem because you can't paralyze him and your Power is extremely low. He will cast heal all the time and he will drain your psi and life with psi drain and life drain.
Another Warrior's strength is that he can use PBA-only weapons without special armor. Mechanical is your most important skill, craft Heavy Cannon and craft and save as many Heavy Slugs as possible. With Heavy Cannon final boss will be easy to kill, but you may want to raise your heavy weapons skill a little bit, Warrior has huge accuracy penalties for using human weapons and final boss has high chance to dodge.
Another weapon of choice against the final boss is Pulse Rifle, it's hard to craft (extremely rare superconductors - you need 2 of them) and much less effective than Heavy Cannon. Your total accuracy will be only 10 and you'll miss a lot.
Don't raise Electronics, there are plenty of tools to add to that skill, bypass circuit, electronic toolkit, hiver multitool. Mechanical, Biotech and Computer are always good to level up.
