BlackInk is nodal painting. That's it thing. That's a very neat thing.
From a point of I don't have the money to purchase this right now, Gimp 3.0 came out in March. Gimp 3.0 is perfectly capable of an array of digital artwork options.
I use Krita but the selection tools are pretty bad. Mostly I'm doing my masking manually by painting on transparency mask layers. Sometimes I can get half way there by using levels to highlight edges but there usually ends up being quite a bit of cleanup required.
I would have paid a reasonable amount just for this function but if I can't test it out with the files I need to work with there is no point in having a demo for me.
I am really interested in this software, but I am not too sure about the future of this one...
