2-4 solo starting struggle tips?
even with both arrive early house upgrades i just do not have enough time to, put on the sago, bring the boxes inside, filter the sago, put the sago in cool toppings storage, stock the shelves, turn on the machines, and load the cup dispenser, before the first M cup order get mad enough to walk off.
any tips would be great at this point
(turns out the pick up table are not blocked by the shutters so that saves a little time getting the boxes inside) maybe i can do this still with a perfect shift
also the warning that sago only has a 1 day shelf life should come on the FIRST day not the start of day 2 costing me my whole 2nd batch i prepped before closing

I'm a little late on the response, but I think the sago tutorial is well crafted. You'll likely fail once or twice before you get sago up and running before opening time, but once you get the hang of it, 2-4 (demon 1) is reasonable solo.

Character choice
There's a decent amount of movement, and every drink requires stirring. As you mentioned, you can drop off the boxes from the loading zone to the front counter, which greatly saves on moving boxes around. Fox is my recommendation for the higher base speed and insane stirring speed, but Wolf has better speed and strength if you value that more. If you somehow have Beaver at Assistant Manager, their Skill is very strong here; otherwise, the slower starting speed (since the floor isn't wet) hurts you too much. Ghost suffers from low speed and strength, but the free stress reduction at Regular Staff level could help you eke out a win.
Drink choice
Aaaaaaaa the steamer is so bad without upgrades. :redbat: Light Sago Matcha is my go-to: no steamer needed on day one, and it's the most expensive drink to boot! I think I was lucky enough to never be forced to take a steamed beverage throughout the business cycle.
Accomodating for the layout
Tips:
  • Save on space by leaving the empty pot and teapot on the induction cooker. It doesn't use extra electricity.
  • Since you're not using the steamer, leave it on a counter in the top left corner. Out of sight, out of mind :necroshovel:
  • Move the mini-fridge near the cash register and cup dispenser. You can take ingredients straight out from the mini-fridge when serving orders.
  • You start with two measuring cups. You can fill a measuring cup with matcha tea and the other with water straight from the sink, then place both in the mini-fridge. I personally place matcha in the spacebar slot and water in the L slot; the inputs for Light Sago Matcha are spacebar L L L, turn away, L to stir, add sago, serve. Once you get the rhythm down, serving is a snap, and as long as you've done the necessary prep work, the level's easy to clear!

Good luck with 2-4! Hope you can beat it :necropotion:

Are you struggling with money or with stress?

If you're struggling with bankruptcy, some powerful early-game money-making gifts are Companion Doll, Business License, Donation Box, Pocket Change, and Toppings Sampler. By day 3/4, you should be earning enough cup coins that spending extra on more bags on sago won't kill you.

If you're struggling to fulfill all orders, try to buy Book Man upgrades with utility. Boosts like Transit Card (extra 30 seconds prep time), Disposable Gloves (faster stir and open lid speed), White Shoes (more movement speed), and Speedy Delivery are very helpful for saving time. On the stress reduction side of things, Donation Box and Earmuffs are the gold standard. Flip-Flops, Mask, and Anti-Fogging Mask are alternatives if you don't luck into the good stuff.

----

I believe Fox starts with the faster stir speed without leveling up. The Senior Staff boost for Fox is Careful: Less likely to spill liquids, which isn't related to stir speed.
