Achievements not unlocking completely?

Hey, so I noticed a few posts on the annoucement for adding achievements that other people are coming across the same problem as I'm currently having.

I just completed my first run through the game on Easy, and got 5 achievements in-game. They appear in the Steam launcher, but don't show up on my profile.

They were just recently added I think so they may still be working out bugs.

My problem is that ingame achievements unlocked before there were Steamworks achievements don't get activated, so all the ones I have can't be re-unlocked. I tried getting a new one and it works correctly.

Player 2, I'm not sure, but resetting your map data might clear the in-game achievements. If I remember correctly, it did for me.

Well, yes, but I don't fancy resetting my save. I was looking for a way to update to Steam the ones I've already completed.

Is it intentional that acheivements only unlock after safely exiting the ship? just need to know for writing a guide
