100% complete!
Is it possible? Every time the end credits roll I'm told I've completed less than 100% of the game. Last night it was 99.1%
Is this merely another reference or is it actually possible to get 100% completion?

EDIT: More than a decade later, I went back to Evoland after reading the post by Attempt_NP1 at the bottom of this page, and tried for the 'Annoying Sound' achievement. It's one of the in-game achievements (not Steam achievements). I was so sure I didn't miss anything, but I did indeed miss something! Sure enough, as soon as I was down to a quarter heart, it popped.

I feel NP1 deserves a little bit of credit for pointing out the answer had already been posted, since I know I didn't notice until they pointed it out, personally. So honorable mention to them for pointing out sharkyman's post, and of course thanks to sharkymandog for providing the answer.

I've yet to beat the game to confirm. Regardless, I've marked the post from sharkymandog as the answer. Thanks to both of you!

Found some old threads questioning if this is a bug...seemed inconclusive. Any recent discoveries? Am I missing some items, level, monsters, or--hell I don't know--gold?
I do have all the stars, cards, and achievements so it must be something statistical or some random values within the game like, "did you step on every tile everywhere forever??"
I'm not sure on this either... I've tried 3 times and gotten everything and haven't gotten 100%

I did finish the game with 100% complete so yes, it is possible. There must be something somewhere, waiting for you to find it.

But what I don't get is I have all the stars, all the cards, all the achievements, and I've basically done every possible task there is in terms of plot, collection, and random nonsense...unless there's some hole in the ground I've never been in or some npc I haven't spoken to I really can't think of anything.
Is any of it missable? Cuz that would certainly explain it.

I completed it yesterday, and I thought it was impossible. Just keep looking for your 'final' star or card ^^

P.S.: It looks like the guy in Aogai sometimes gives you wrong information, so be careful.

I have all the stars and cards...how did I not make that clear the first time?

Have you done all the sidequests? There's one where you give an old lady some cooked meat. Have you tried talking to all the NPCs until they repeat themselves? Bought everything from the shop? Read every sign? Visited all the hidden areas, including the hole in the ground? I've no idea what you're missing, I'm just suggesting some things to try.

Exhausting NPC dialogue sounds like something I hadn't considered xD I mean, honestly, who would?

There's also some book titles in the first village.
And I would ;) I'm one of those who keeps talking to NPCs even *after* they start repeating themselves.

2 things you could have missed: the fourth heart from that merchant in the tent OR the loot from the Diablo-style ruins, as in the gear. I got 100% ONLY after I got those items.

Here's a link to a list of all the game's achievements, both in game and outside. The list also includes the achievements for Evoland 2. Evoland 1's achievements all come first. If you're unsure of which achievement goes to which game, tap/click the achievement name and check the description/explanation. I first beat the game with 98.2%. I went back and got the "Sniper" and "Takoyaki" achievements and beat the Zephyros again and came out with 100%. Sure hope someone finds this helpful with the game being 6 years old. This'll be like a time capsule comment. :)

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I can confirm 100% is possible, you have to get all in game achievements, e.g. the "you have unlocked...." messages in the bottom left, I had 98.2 but realised I was also missing the achievements for killing 10 a'tuin and getting 50k glis, once I got those I fought Zephyros again and the game said I did 100%
I realize I'm necroing an already necroed thread, but I just wanted to post the following for posterity.

Basically, my completion percentage was at 99.1%--FYI you can see this percentage after beating the final boss--and this was after unlocking all of the Steam achievements, buying all unique items from the town merchants, collecting all the gear drops in the Ruins of Sarudnahk, and getting the extra heart from the merchant (for those of you that didn't know, there's a little tent on the world map which you can reach after getting the airship; if you ever beat a Choboko in a random encounter, it'll drop meat, so give it to the old woman in Aogai and she'll cook it for you, after which you'll want to give it to the merchant in the tent for an extra heart piece).

Anyway, I wasn't sure what the remaining 0.9% was, so I spoke to every NPC in Papunika and Aogai multiple times, found all the hidden treasure (e.g. in boxes and barrels) in Papunika, bought one of each infinite item (potion, phoenix down) from both town merchants + sold something to them once, and tried to max out potions and phoenix downs only to realize they don't cap at 99. After doing all of this, I beat Zephyros again, but my percentage was still at 99.1%.

Not sure what to do, I found this thread, and read the comment from sharkymandog. So I went to the Sacred Grove and took enough hits from the bats there until I only had 1/4 heart left. Right after doing this, the in-game achievement "Annoying Sound" popped. Note I wrote in-game because this does not count as a Steam achievement, but the same unlock icon and accompanying text was displayed just like when you pop the Steam achievements.

With "Annoying Sound" unlocked, I beat Zephyros again and this time my percentage was at 100%. Completing the game with 100% gave me the in-game trophy of "You Won the Game," which unlocked the game's soundtrack in the main menu.

And that's about it. Hopefully the above proves useful to someone else later on down the road
