How to run in windowed mode and resize the window in Windows

So at full screen I was getting some screen tearing, probably due to the game not supporting vertical-sync.

You can press F11 to switch between windowed mode and full screen.

Sadly, the windowed mode is super tiny and cannot be resized.

I downloaded a Window resizing utility and was able to resize the window to whatever dimensions I wanted. The utility I used was: http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/program/swru.html
However I'd imagine any of the other ones out there would work.

I resized the window to 1376x818 which is exactly 2x it's native windowed resolution.

That we have to download an app to do it and it isn't a basic feature in the game itself is kind of absurd

It's really helpful but it leaves a black screen where it resized.

There are better tools 'nowadays', I use 'sizer' and it lets you define any resolution.

ok, so I could never be bothered to look for something like this before, but still... 35 years on this earth, 30 spent gaming, and only Tribes 1 ever impacted my gaming life like you just did. I don't even play this game.. it was from a google search to use for other games lol

I just hit f11 then max size so I get my bar at the bottom and it works fine for me so far.

But it's only for 32 bit operating systems :( I do see here though that a specific version of it "may" work with some 64 bit systems in case anyone else wants to try: http://www.brianapps.net/sizer/sizer34.html

does it still work for your recommended third party program? it is great and solved my problem for many years since i hate the full screen to avoid my workload on win pc, if it have win mode like ps or xbox remote play, it is more convenient for obs video record, hopefully steam os can make more tools on this thing...
