Rotate Objects?
How do I rotate objects such as doors, windows, beds, etc? When I place them, they are installed but orientated in the wrong direction. Did I miss something?

Find the almighty R button.

Or middle mouse, assuming you're using a proper mouse and not a stupid trackpad.

might have to zoom in a little closer to see which way objects are oriented.

Cookers and fridges I can never tell if they are oriented the right direction, the sides all look similar to me. Same for the weight bench.
Thanks peeps! After properly utilizing the search box here in the forum, I found the answer to my question within minutes of posting this. I appreciate you responses and concur with your assessment of proper orientation of some items. When the kinks are worked out, this game should be quite good. Neat stuff.

Zoom in to take note of which way the object is facing, R rotates clockwise so a cooker for example will have this pattern: Facing you, Facing Left, Facing away, Facing right.

I get that, thanks, but the details for the front face look a lot like the details for any other face. I see there are differences, but they are very subtle, like the dice you can buy in Vegas that are guaranteed to roll 7 every time. Hopefully, the graphics will get another update.

What they should really do is add a marker that is separate from the object that indicates the direction it is pointing. I have had to take down so many security cameras because they are pointed right into the wall. A little arrow would help. For things like cookers, just place an outline of a cook where that cook would be standing if he were using the cooker.

Well since the direction they face makes no difference in the gameply, if you can't tell then don't worry about it.
For some people, accuracy and attention to detail are important.

RIght, I got that, but if the graphic lack of detail of an object makes it so you can't tell, then again, what's the difference?

it matters a lot which way the cameras are pointing....
And the cookers.

In fact there aren't many items that *don't* have a design for all four orientations, but sometimes it's not at all obvious which way is the right way round. I still have to peer hard at side-oriented cameras to work out which end is supposed to be the lens!

You're right, and the detail of the image makes it perfectly obvious which way they are pointing. The only ones I have trouble telling for is the fridge, and maybe the cooker, but even that has a handle on the front side you can see.

The whole point is, if you care about the details that much, you should have no trouble picking out the details that clue you in onthe orientation of the object.

They should go with the almighty click to place - drag to orientate model.
