Common Rooms: How many prisoners can use a TV set at the same time?
As the headline says ...
if x prisoners in a common room would like to watch TV,
how many TV sets would I need to satisfy all?

Does each prisoner require his own TV set (so that I would need x TV sets)
Or would multiple prisoners be able to use the same TV set at the same time (which IMHO would make more sense)

tv is a small portion of the recreation category. Once you get the hang of the game most of us just put a tv in each cell since every prisoner is on his own needs agenda. Its kinda like how many phones do you need to satisfy part of the family category.

BUt if you want a few in a common room usually if you have 24 prisoners, I make my prisons witha bout a 6 to 1 ratio, some items need more and others less but for me personally with my own designs 6 to 1 works

Guess it partially depends on how many free times you have enabled as more free time you have can increase the ratios to make 10 or 12 to 1. I work my prisoners 10 hours a day with 4 one hour breaks, one every 6 hours (more work time - more money from workshops)

Well, all my normal cells have TV sets ... but usually I have around 25% of my inmates in a holding cell
(which serves double duty:
1. More money ...
2. If inmates from single cells are detected trying to escape 8via digging tunnels for example) they lose their right to this single cell (as they are put in solitary confinement and an inmate from the holding cell imediately is put in their former cell) )

For these inmates the ratio of Prisoners per TV is rather useful.
At the moment I have a single TV set in my holding cell (aside from 2 TV sets in tthe common room)
But if I knew, for example, that each TV set only can be used by a single prisoner at the same time, I might be inclined to increase the number of TV sets

from what I have observed eveything is based on one prisoner at a time

Billard tables allow for more than one prisoner at a time.

On the other hand it may be: "1 Prisoner / Tile of the object" in which case it, again, is 1 prisoner per TV

That's not correct at all. TV can quench all of a prisoner's Recreation need.

As for the OP, one TV for one prisoner. They used to have huge widescreen TVs but they were eliminated in A5 or so. You could build a bench and prisoners would stare at the big TV.

Thanks chalked.up

Sounds like my prisoners deserve a few more TV sets in holding cell and common room then :D

Hope they´ll reintroduce the big TV set you spoke of ... makes only sense to have a TV set that can be used by more prisoners

What does your regime look like?

sorta sleep 5 hours
1 hour shower
1 hour free time
4 hours work
1 hour free time
2 hours eat
1 hour free time
5 hours work
1 hour free time
2 hours eat
1 hour work

this is close from my memory although not in right order

free time will allow the prisoner to do whatevr his needs are from sleeping to showering

only use yard if you have a long ways to go and use it as a mustering point before work or whatever
